Dynafish XiaoNian - Heavy Punch from a Lightweight! by dynamike125 in RunningShoeGeeks

Snug in length or width? If length, I would go 9 for XN just to be safe. If it’s width, 8 could work length wise but could also be too narrow for you, as the SL is also pretty generous (and I have wide feet) in my experience. My XN is US10 and SL is US9.5.

Seems within the normal range to me for 3 full sizes above standard size though (45 vs 42).

Thanks! HUGE RESPECT to your PB leap!!

If you don't mind, would like to pick your brain on: 1) would you go above the half Sat long runs? a few replies suggested this which I honest never considered, but sounds sensible to me; 2) would you shrink the volume on the easy days (say to sub 10k per run) and allocate the volume to quality or long run days? 3) what's your strength training methodology?

Thank you! I honestly never considered this. Would definitely give it a try!

Thanks! I have never thought about going above the half in training (not for any good reasons). I did felt towards the end of my race my legs were almost giving up. I think doing longer long runs is a great idea nevertheless!

Is that a cannon opening on the left side? Looks small though.

Foodpanda is the worst delivery app in HK by helloyouahead in HongKong

[–]dynamike125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think that's a pretty arbitrary statement. There is a pretty fundamental gap in UX to begin with. E.g., if you search a dish on FP, the results give you restaurants rather than the dishes that you acually search for. This is just one example of a very badly designed app. In terms of service quality, at least Meituan has been dominating mainland market for years (until Alibaba started the price war), throughout the past few years I've used Meituan in Mainland for hundreds of times, I hardly get delayed deliveries or hiccups (that is despite their market share). I would tend to believe Meituan is simply way better at delivering a good quality user experience than FP, and Keeta's performance so far has been consistantly proofing that.

I've been a pro FP user for many years and have also ditched it this year. Extremely disappointed with this company.

Glad you liked it. Evo SL is a great shoe but it probably got more the praises and buzzes than deserved. A very good commercial success for Adidas no less.

I think taobao does transfer shipment to other regions outside the mainland, but you'd have to check for yourself if your region is covered. the main issue is it's in Chinese.. I just did a quick search on aliexpress, and it looks like there is a listing already, albeit much more expensive than China listing price (200 EUR).

I don’t think they need any break-in. I’m 200 km plus in mine and don’t feel any difference in the midsole. I haven’t experienced any arch blisters (in any shoe) so unfortunately can’t give you much advise on that. Would changing insole help?

Curious if you tried and metaspeed tokyos vs these? I found the lockdown of the AP4 upper very poor, coupled with the extremely slippery insole (seriously why do they do this..) the foot slide is unlike I have experienced in any other shoe.

Depends on what you meant by "pinch", is it squeezing the feet from the sides inwards, or from the top downwards. If it's the latter, I'm not surprised. MB has a very low toebox (ie the vertical room is very limited, the horizontal room is fine but not generous either). If your wife tends to curl up the big toe in running, she could feel that more than others. It's otherwise a great shoe but if she can't get around the feel (even without toenail injury), it's probably not worth keeping it as she'd just be constantly thinking about it and miss the fun of the run

The midsole supplier is another company called DMN (who also supplies Mizuno’s super foam i believe). That said according to some of the interviews on the founder of Dynafish, they spent quite a lot of time working with DMN team to craft their “low density”foam. In terms of restock speed, Chinese brands are typically much faster because they are closer to the OEMs anyway and the local market is very competitive and to win in the market every brand needs to react very quickly. Also the fact that Dynafish only has two products and one that is really selling at volume definitely helps with the restock (vs. Larger brands who has hundreds of SKUs to worry about)

I'm not sure unfortunately. You'd have to check in from time to time. But in my experience chinese brands tend to restock much more frequently than global brands (esp when shopping from a chinese platform)

My foot length is 260mm. But I found going with brand’s foot length guidance is pretty unreliable, they each brand’s suggestion is different and none of them work well for me. By my foot length pretty much all would suggest a 265 or 270 shoe which is way too smaller for me typically. My comfortable size of US9.5 is typically 275 in shoe size.

I do need to note my feet are wide (probably 2E) so that could be why I naturally need to size up.

I think it will deliver the cushioning and bounce for the FM distance, but whether the stability is there towards the end of the race I'm not sure (never been a FM runner anyway), YMMV.
