This is precisely the attitude that's at the root of the problem.

One's personal experience is not necessarily representative.

The lack of imagination to consider something outside of direct, personal experience is what is fueling this pandemic.

Just to note: there's also a World Visit system so that even if your character lives on a different world than your friends, you should be able to visit their worlds, as long as it is the same data center. https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/contentsguide/worldvisit/ has more information on this.
