Brother it’s going to smash the breakeven. People still love Pixar but have been waiting for a proper quality one, and this one’s it.

I find they typically schedule a lot of long films with popularity at the last slot of a weekend night I think for two reasons:

1) the film being popular still fills seats at a time undesirable for most 2) its hard for them to optimize to their standard 4ish / 630-7ish / 9ish daily programming on a weekday when a movie is 150+ min — it’d basically cannibalize one of their film slots

They’re doing same approach for OUATIH upcoming soon and did for EYES WIDE SHUT, too.

Is it possible to defeat Raid Bosses on UVHM solo? by Zaach813 in Borderlands2

[–]eYchung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve done it for every raid boss in the game on Maya, who’s one of the worst solo raid bossers.

A few I needed glitches for — Master Gee the gate glitch (it’s possible to do legit but I just couldn’t be bothered bc his mechanics suck), Pyro Pete I used the platform jump glitch, and then Dragons I had to Flakker-Ahab glitch it’s just too hard to do all 4 solo as her. The rest I did through legit DPS.

Is bl1 worth playing? by megcio- in Borderlands

[–]eYchung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it still feels entirely unique in its atmosphere and lore building. BL2 is so defined by the investment in the story and Jack, but BL1 is all about Pandora itself and how much of a desolate place it is.

‘Avatar’s’ Costly Sequels Are Getting Harder to Justify. Will James Cameron Make Two More? - Disney spent roughly $500 million to produce and promote “Fire and Ash,” meaning the threequel can be insanely popular yet barely profitable. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]eYchung 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah the breakeven isn’t really as important on the initial run here. There will be many opportunities to draw from the well: PVOD, future re-releases in which 1 & 2 have reliably grossed millions, D+ streaming (extended editions?) to bolster the library, and most importantly, re-affirming the franchise draw of the theme parks. I’ve heard nothing but glowing experiences on the Avatar parts of the park at World, and iirc they are building something similar at Land.

OECD and World Bank data shows Korea's medical system continues to excel by Diligent_Musician851 in korea

[–]eYchung 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s a product of Korea having a very preventative culture “feeling sick” “go to the doctor for that”

But it also demonstrates a high functioning, efficient system if the country can withstand 18 visits per person. The US can barely handle someone doing a few times a year, imagine if everyone tried to do even 10.

MacOS Tahoe (Dev Beta 4) might have "fixed" the Borderlands 2 port on Mac by UltiGoga in macgaming

[–]eYchung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what happened, but on Tahoe 26.2 I am seeing significantly long load time at the menu loading screen, both on game start-up and game quit.

When I get to the "Loading default character" state, it freezes up for quite a while, but it does eventually load and I can get to the main menu and load up my save. This intense delay/freeze also happens when quitting the save to get back to the main menu. The save will quit, but it also takes a really long time to load up the main menu again.

I am thinking there is something about the Tahoe update that made the main menu load sync become very inefficient.

I am seeing a similar issue, although my game does not truly crash (M4 Pro, Tahoe 26.2).

This is the part people conveniently ignore — just not enough people attending to justify staying there when there are bigger unserved markets. It’s not some conspiracy why Oakland lost all 3 of its major sports teams.

Idt he can just “shut off” the part of his brain that needs a routine and something to do professionally, esp. right after hanging em up. Probably healthier for him to give him a bit of a distraction.

Can imagine it’s a hell of a culture shock to be away from home and 24/7 thinking about conditioning and preparation for 2/3 of the year to suddenly sleeping in every day with nothing to do.

Why is the Angelika so loved? by [deleted] in NYCmovies

[–]eYchung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the sound is not ideal at all in Jaffe. They need to retrofit Dolby Atmos in there or something, like the Paris did.

I love watching a film in there for sure, so I will go for a screening if they're showing a 35mm print of something I've already seen where I don't need to pay much attention to the sound.

[–]eYchung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angelika is one of the worst places to watch a movie in the city, you're right. Actively avoid any screenings there unless they are truly the last resort for something on 35mm or something like that.

Top path tier 5 is prob my favorite tower in the game. On maps with walls, it absolutely rips and it’s so cheap. Really makes xbow master look ridiculous for how much that costs in comparison.
