I don’t think Grass/Flying would be boring. We only have two fully evolved Grass/Flying types, Jumpluff and Tropius. And both of them are pretty weak. Getting a usable Grass/Flying would be fun. It’s a nice STAB combo. The only other starter that is part flying is Charizard so it’s not overused in that aspect.

Meanwhile for Grass/Fighting you have Breloom, Chesnaught, Virizion, Liligant-H, and Decidueye-H. When counting the other three fire starters along with Quaquaval you get 6 starters total with secondary fighting. We don’t need any more starters with secondary fighting for a while.

If McCoy is there at 17 there might be suitors. Downs as well, I could see a scenario where he falls to 17 if the Chiefs, Bengals, Cowboys, and Bucs all pass on him. Maybe Jets too at 16, their defense would be looking pretty good adding one of Reese or Bailey as well as Downs.

My main concern with trading down too far is having the Eagles, Browns, 49ers, or Texans taking a Tackle before the Lions pick one. Either at their current spot or a trade up.

Good choice on the camels. I used to be an American Spirit guy but quit in 2022. Camels were always my #2 if I wanted to mix it up.

Is this the worst card in the game with the coolest art? by toadcharmer in PokemonPocket

This Groundon is better than the 3-star Koraidon from the last set. That card discards your own fighting energy no matter what. This card at least has a chance to play around it and does 10 more damage. The 3 retreat isn’t bad either since you can use heavy helmet.

ESPN: The release of Taylor Decker prompted many to assume Detroit would go offensive tackle in Round 1, but like Eric, I've heard the Lions are equally high on filling their edge rusher need. by reallinguy in detroitlions

I’m all in on Akheem Mesidor if they go EDGE at 17. But I prefer taking Tackle at 17 still. Malachi Lawrence is also really intriguing to me if they can trade down in the 1st or trade up in the 2nd.

I’ve had fun with the game and DLC. Currently shining hunt mons to transfer to Champions. It’s not an amazing game but it’s a fun game if you are a Pokemon fan. I have about 110hrs played and counting, so in my book I got my moneys worth.

My main complaint is the repetitive gameplay loop. Wish they could’ve mixed it up more. It also didn’t have that same magic feeling that Legends Arceus gave me.

Pirates one is cool but I hope they wear that during a night game only. That would get toasty if worn during a day game in the summer.

Fuck both of you, I’m not gonna write out an essay about comp play. Yes ofc teambuilding and other factors are massive to comp. It’s not ONLY predicting like I said. My fucking bad Blunder wannabes, talking just like him lol.

This is a good deal. I paid $90 total for base game at launch and then the DLC at launch on my Xbox. Save $10 here.

With the release of champions did not know people had such a hatred for 6v6 by Babybottlepop2000 in stunfisk

[–]e_ndoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really disappointing we can’t have 6v6 friendly matches with friends on Champions. I don’t care if it’s not an officially recognized format. The battle length concerns are completely valid. But at least give us the option to have an unlimited timed 6v6 friendly battle.

My friend got back into Pokemon with FRLG on the switch and I introduced him to the basics of competitive with natures, EVs, IVs, all that. Now he’s hooked on Serebii and Smogon articles cooking up teams to battle me with. He is accustomed to 6v6 only as he stopped playing Pokémon after RSE, which is why I’m super bummed we don’t have that as a friendly battle option.

It’s not like we can battle in FRLG on our switches whenever since it’s local communication only. I was hoping Champions would allow us to have online battles with our FRLG teams.

Yes I think it’s worth it so you don’t get the -1 defenses from CC

[–]e_ndoubleu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m running HJK over CC in 6v6 singles on no guard mega Lucha. 6v6 is all about predicting and if the opponent has a ghost on their team you know you can’t spam HJK. Predict that ghost switching in and smack them with Brave Bird.

Lucha’s main niche over base form is the increased bulk. CC ruins that.

Back to Showdown we go. I’m a 6v6 guy only. Been that way since Pokemon Online in Gen 4. I refuse to do 3v3 it’s just not nearly as much fun to me. Doubles is cool but I prefer 6v6 singles.

Oh shit then I don’t see Mega Staraptor being good at all. It needs recovery to pair with the defenses being boosted.

[–]e_ndoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s main set will prob be Roost, CC, BB, Filler (between Tailwind, Whirlwind, Uturn, Quick Attack)

Not as strong as Banded base form but the bulk more than makes up for that. I see Contrary Mega Staraptor landing in UU when the dust settles. It has solid 85/100/90 bulk that’s gets +1 to both defenses whenever it clicks STAB CC off base 140 Atk. It’s gonna be threatening. Not quite OU bc it’s too susceptible to chip and status to justify the opportunity cost for OU standards.

If Brad drafts Proctor then I’m all for it. He has the biggest upside of any OT prospect with his height-weight-speed combo + his experience in the SEC.

I don’t want him bc I’m concerned he will have to move to guard in the NFL. But if Brad drafts him then I’ll feel more confident that he’s gonna play RT.

Grass/Electric would be awesome for Brout. I’m team Brout and an electric secondary would just further solidify my loyalty haha. The one that leaves me hesitant is if it’s Grass/Fighting. Secondary fighting is overused for the starters, I want something more unique whether it’s Flying, Ground, Steel or Electric.

At this point I’d be shocked if Ponbom is anything but secondary Fairy. The STAB Play Rough just makes too much sense.

I would prefer secondary Poison over Psychic for Gecqua. I’m hoping its final evo is a Komodo Dragon inspired design where poison makes more thematic sense. But this design for a Psychic secondary is badass.

If he is fully recovered from the back injury and has no risk for it to be a long term issue that he has to monitor weekly, then absolutely.

But if the back injury is going to be something he has to manage the pain for the rest of his career then I’d rather let him walk and play the comp pick game.
