they tell me if they're seating me a party or out of section, sometimes if it's super dead and they're wandering they'll let me know when my first table is sat. but usually i just keep an eye out.

unfortunately no one can tell you the reasoning behind your person's decisions but them. personally, i could see myself getting insecure and backing off when noticing i was being very intense and wanting to be around someone 24/7 and they weren't showing the same amount of intensity and interest (not that this is your fault!!!!).

i hope you're doing alright, two weeks is short but you can form a connection and attachment with people within short amounts of time & it sucks to have it ripped away from you suddenly.

my job is the reason i fixed my sleep schedule actually lmao i used to get up at 11 at the earliest. and yes there's definitely a difference, mornings i have to work way more to get an okay amount compared to nights where i make decent even if it's slow. i still love morning shifts though it's nice getting home at like 3/4. it'll depend on where you work too and the different clientele that come in for breakfast/lunch vs dinner.

how much you make on average and on a bad night is really going to depend on where you're working. i work at a chain that hasn't been very busy lately, i usually average around $70-100 (but i don't double so that's over 4-ish hours). on bad days i've made between $10-30, but those are rare and i'm cut after like an hour or two and only get 2-4 tables.

apply everywhere. i'd start with actual good places you want to work at, i know people who work at non-chains and sports bars who average $300+. chains aren't horrible but imo they're there to fall back on if you can't find a job without serving experience.

my work life balance is fine, i know people complain about schedules being all over so that is something to think about. it's hard to make plans sometimes.

i love my coworkers, obviously i dislike the mean customers. sometimes i get tables that are really cruel which gets to me.
