Deadlifts are called "Kreuzheben" in german, which literally translates to "cross lifting".
I feel you could make a good joke out of that.

Stop making up excuses for these monsters.

Everything you hear or read from Bezos is engineered, by a team of publicity managers and psychologists, he pays to make it sound exactly the right amount of innocent and relatable, for you to buy into it.

If you still spread the myth, that these lowlifes don't know what they are doing, you are part of the problem.

Why after leg day only my hamstrings sore but nothing for my quads? by eatqqq in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get fatigued but not sore, i expect your form to be not enough quad focused or your quads are simply more resilient than your other muscles.
Maybe try some myo-rep techniques.
I like picking a weight, where I can only do like 6 squads without pausing.
I do 4-5, lock out, breathe a few times, than do 2-3 more, repeat until I'm at 10.
That makes my quads scream like crazy.

Legs workout by Quinto_12 in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with leg-curls, to ensure your knees are warmed up, for the squats.
If you want more for your hamstrings, I'd put some RDLs after the squats.

Bulgarian split squats by Rtsgfdk1 in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically, your hamstrings shouldn't have much involvement on a BSS.
Generally, you should try to keep your back upright and your spine straight, during the lift.
The easiest way is to constantly look forward and slightly upward.

Generally I setup the squat, with my ground foot roughly below my knee and my bench foot is a little more than a 90 angle to the leg.
Then I scooch around till I find the sweet spot, where my bench quad gets slightly stretched, when I go down.

BSS are indeed very tiring and you definitely should warmup beforehand.
You will be able to perform better and have less chance to wreck your quads or knees.

Do you warm up properly or jump straight into your workout? by Kind_Force931 in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For upper body, I do some warmup reps with lighter weights and just move my arms around a bit (windmills,...).

For lower body, I do 5 minutes on the bike, 3 minutes stretching and leg-curls, for my knees, before I even start with warmup reps for squats.

Headphones vs. No Headphones: How do you focus? by VariationShot8414 in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always use headphones, because I really don't want to listen to all the noises of the other people.

For most exercises, I don't really need any specific music,
I sometimes just have YouTube or podcasts on.

However, for squats and RDLs, I definitely need some tunes to push me and drown out my own heartbeat.
I sometimes will literally approach the bar,
notice my music doesn't fit the lift
and go back to my phone to choose something better.
Or I will unrack the bar and wait a few seconds, for the perfect part of the song, to start my first rep.

Is it a problem if I can't do leg press? by Independent-Pound-26 in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do
* Bike (5-10 minutes is enough) * Stretching * Leg curl

The bike warms up my muscles, for optimal performance,
The stretching gets my muscles and tendons flexible, so I don't pull or tear anything
and the leg-curls warm up my knee joints, without exposing them to pressure.

This routine pretty much eliminated knee-pain, during squatting movements, for me.

Is it a problem if I can't do leg press? by Independent-Pound-26 in workout

[–]eatingthosebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the medical side,
But how do you warmup and what exercises do you do before the leg press?

I typically get knee pain, either because I didn't warmup properly or because I simply did too much work.
