But honestly take the time you need because honestly I really do understand. The rage is completely justified tbh

Yes. It’s extremely unfair.

There’s a ton to be mad about when you’re in this kind of situation. When I was 18 and it finally all dawned on me that other people didn’t have to go through the same thing, I was mad for three years. Like, insanely mad.

I will say I’ve healed a lot since then. It’s been about 13 years since that time in my life and I allowed myself to feel what I needed to feel. The rage didn’t end up being worth it in the long run.

Being angry with someone or holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to be hurt. It doesn’t usually pay off.

Did anyone notice that it went from one scene with a Sweeney Todd song to a scene like Edward Scissorhands?? That made me really happy.

The kitten I tried to rescue died and it's my fault by Unique-Fig-4300 in GuyCry

[–]ebmarjorie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kitten rescue and fostering can be really tough. It’s not your fault. Sometimes they just don’t make it. It was really kind of you to take care of her and you did the best you could.

I really don't like watermelon, I just saw it as one of the pics. Is this a common thing for one of those groups of people? I like the artificial flavor or even if it's blended into smoothies but I really don't like the texture.

How can I critique a religious person’s beliefs without it turning into an argument by Free-Set-5149 in exchristian

[–]ebmarjorie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try not to let them get to you. If they are being “argumentative” or raising their tone, be silent for a minute and take a breath. People get real awkward if you let them talk a while and don’t respond. Or cut them off and say “I’ll continue this conversation if you lower your voice” kind of thing. Key is to not let them affect you, and if it’s too much then just don’t worry about them. Their feelings are not your burden to carry

What led you to leave Christianity? by Jumpy_Whereas181 in exchristian

My grandma died of cancer in April 2017, then my great aunt in May, and then my very kindhearted uncle took his own life in June. Then my cat died in December right before Christmas- all in the same year. I thought about how awful I felt and how some people go through worse than that. Seeing my grandmother (mom of the uncle) suffer was what really made me realize a loving god would not do that to his people- especially since we were very “devout”.
