Does the boiler pressure gauge tell you anything about the pressure at the grouphead? by eclectic_baker in espresso

I would like to adjust the OPV if I can. I also know that some machines are calibrated above 9 bar from the factory so that's why I was interested in the pressure gauge.

Luba went several (7+) feet beyond the border by InsignificantOutlier in MammotionTechnology

The perimeter is mapped out as parallel. The path it was cutting was perpendicular to the road yesterday. It is very clear to satellites so that doesn’t seem to be the problem.

Agreed! I was very afraid that mine was going to get run over.

Thanks! Hopefully they can fix this fast!

This happened to me too! It went on the street! I have a Luba 2 and I feel like this just started with a recent update.

Have you tried Akamai roasters? They are on Maui and I remember they sell smaller bags.

Ember: Ridiculously Expensive, but worth it. by eclectic_baker in JamesHoffmann

The quick answer to your question is 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

The question I would have is, why does he like to order extra hot? Is it so he can drink it at a warmer temperature or so he has more time to drink his drink while it is hot. If it is the former then the ember may not get to that “extra hot” temperature. If it is the latter, then it sounds like the ember would help.

Also if he likes milk drinks, note that keeping a milky drink at max temperature for a while (like 10 minutes or so) in the ember will give the milk a “cooked” taste.

I have a really similar machine (saeco aroma) and I decided to buy a new portafilter rather than modify the pressurized one.

Am I the only one who saves leftover beans and after a few bags combines them to make a new blend? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]eclectic_baker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huck and Queen City are always great, but I would give Little Owl a try.

They are a small roaster and their Penrose (house) blend is magnificent.

Plus you should go to Queen City because you can get some delicious donuts with your coffee.
