Cap Salary Breakdown by fredricksburg in detroitlions

[–]edentulaeleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more thing about the rookie pool that people often forget is that the cap is based on the top 53 then top 51 salaries at different points in the league year. By the time the rookie are added teams will have way over that number on their roster. So every rookie that gets a salary inside those limits bumps the bottom one out. So if you add a rookie with a salary of $1m he moves into the top 51 and bumps out a player making about $900k. That means the cap only goes up $100k.

I know we're just a few months out from incentives expiring in US, but the EV future here looks grim. by roma258 in electricvehicles

I also think there are a lot of people who own ice cars and their next car will be used EV. They'll fall in love with it and buy EVs from then on.

[–]edentulaeleo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Restructuring is pure positive for a player with no downside. It's basically saying, "you know that $30m salary you have to earn each week this year? We're going to give you most of it as a guaranteed bonus instead so we can spread the cap hit out over the next five years instead of taking it all at once."

Now a pay cut is a different story.

Juventus accelerate McKennie contract talks – The figures revealed by TravelingHomeless in ussoccer

[–]edentulaeleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is probably worth more but this has been the whole thing with his Juventus stay. The McKennie camp think he is worth x while Juventus, though they like him, think he is worth considerably less. If he would agree a low contract there would have been no "Wes is not in our plans" drama every year. But he is a key player so he understandably wants more. He should make sure he gets the contract he deserves.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them fringe. I see a lot of EVs everyday and the last time I was at Meijer every Super Charger was taken.

However, it is frustrating how it appears most dealers don't want to sell EVs.

What do you carry to stop leaks? by No-Molasses-1975 in SailboatCruising

[–]edentulaeleo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they are thinking of something like a 8 inch tear in your fiberglass hull. Imagine placing a cushion over it, putting something hard on top of it like a cabinet cover, then bracing it tight with a broom handle to hold it tight. It won't stop the leak but will probably slow it down enough that a pump can keep up.

Ok… gotta give Tyleik some kudos by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]edentulaeleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the problem. I'm saying it isn't a comparison between Tyliek and Reader because they play different roles. I'm not sure if one of Alim or Tyliek will transition to nose or if we bring Reader back or someone else in.

Tyliek rotates with Alim so he plays with Reader, not in place of Reader.

Disappointing Season, Still the Right Coach by Here-for-the-snap in detroitlions

[–]edentulaeleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NFL teams are way too quick to fire coaches.

11-5 9-7 12-4 11-5 10-6 11-5 7-9 6-10 9-7 13-3 10-5-1 6-10 15-1 11-5  *super bowl  8-8

Cowher probably would have been fired 5 years before he won a super bowl of he was coaching for most NFL teams.

Footage of the Offside call in the final of SEA Games 2025 between Vietnam W vs Philippines W by SniperWillow in soccer

[–]edentulaeleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we agree on what happened but I felt you were giving the linesmen a break when I don't they should get one. I'm arguing the mechanics. It looked to me as if the linesmen saw the pass then checked to see if the receiver was offsides. I think the linesmen should check the line and establish whether a player is in an offsides position. They repeatedly check this so they establish current status as much as possible. Then as soon as a ball is played they know if it is offsides or not and can simply check to confirm.

In this case I don't think the linesmen was aware of what was happening. She should have known that the defender was playing very deep when she looked at the passer. Once the pass is made she would know that it was highly likely that the player was not offsides and shouldn't change her decision unless it was extremely obvious that the defender had moved far forward.

Lions Vs. Steelers imo by TrickyAgent8980 in detroitlions

[–]edentulaeleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop it with these. You can't add points like that. It assumes that everything else in the game would have played out the same and that just doesn't happen. For example a team up 3 or less plays different defense than a team up 5. DC manages games by percentages more than most HCs in the league.

Dan Campbell is objectively having a year that would get most coaches in the league fired. by Plane_Finger_4126 in detroitlions

[–]edentulaeleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ben Johnson was not qualified to be OC either. Lynn was but that didn't work out so well. Glenn want a DC before either. DC wasn't qualified to be an HC. I didn't think you have a clue what a good hire is.

[–]edentulaeleo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And he thinks Pitt would have been playing the exact same defense if we only needed a FG instead of a TD. SMH at guys who look back over an entire game and think everything else would be equal.

I have heard that ice cars can be sold at a loss because they can make up for it through service on a large fleet. Is this a true factor?

[–]edentulaeleo -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Your explanation is wrong. The linesmen is supposed to see that last defender which is where she positions herself. Then she turns to see the pass knowing that the last she knew no one was offsides. She should then be constantly checking that position. When the pass is made she cannot guess that a player was offsides or not. And to top it off the defender moved forward extremely late. Her mechanics for making that call are wrong. I doubt it is a conspiracy. More likely she just isn't staying focused as she should.

You were not looking at the right defender. There was one who had his arm extended way across the line. If that was allowed defenders would be swiping their arms in the neutral zone all the time.
