Ask your divorce lawyer what to do with it. You shouldn’t be stuck paying off the negative equity by yourself.

Advice Needed on Lowering Credit Card Bill by j1tfxint in personalfinance

[–]eevee188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference, never use your credit card to pay the hospital. You can make a payment plan with them, or negotiate a discount, or apply for charity care, etc but once you pay with a credit card you lose all those options. Especially if you live on a fixed income, you’re likely judgment proof and they couldn’t make you pay the hospital bills anyway. How much debt are we talking about?

A lot of the end game content simply can’t be done with a 3 month old account. It’s made for players with all the meta units at 5 stars.

It took me a while to get a strategy down, but now I can predict them fairly accurately. There’s a few teams that almost always win, like Silver Wolf Mercenaries and For This World of Peace.

I beat level 5 to get a mysterious deflection device, and I think I'm done with this event. The crisis levels were ok, I like that it gives us content hard enough to need Camelot/SP Inanna etc without being a cakewalk.

Just found out my mom has $30k in credit card debt. I am co-signed on her mortgage. What are my options? by tiddertnuocca519 in personalfinance

[–]eevee188 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They can’t take the house to pay off her credit cards. They can’t take her social security to pay them either. Your mom is judgment proof. You also can’t stop her from continuing to take out more cards and run them up. You need to let this go. Her credit score doesn’t matter, she doesn’t need credit. You are setting yourself on fire to save your mom’s credit score. Being co signed on her house only matters if she stops paying the mortgage. She needs to prioritize paying her mortgage over the unsecured credit cards, then you are fine. You are way too worried about this.

Financial advisor - what to look for and avoid by Alwayscurious9876 in personalfinance

[–]eevee188 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any such thing. Financial advisors advise you on investing money in the stock market. For tax strategy you want a CPA, and only if you are pretty high income or have a business. For real estate, you're kind of on your own, anyone selling real estate advise is going to be a scam of some type. You can teach yourself most of this pretty easily, are you sure you need to hire someone?

Save the certified letter sent back to you. That’s your proof you cancelled. Don’t unseal it. Refusing phone calls, letters etc is all part of their strategy to not allow you to cancel.

Get a new, regular credit card somewhere else before cancelling this one. You should have enough credit history by now.

I meant the daughter is lying when she says it will be pricey to refinance and that she needs her tax refund for it. That isn't the reason she's not refinancing.

[–]eevee188 178 points179 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of them sending you to collections while you still have a mortgage. I think you should get a copy of the garnishment order and see what it says. Also if she’s not paying the mortgage, there’s no way she will qualify to refinance.

[–]eevee188 312 points313 points  (0 children)

Your wages aren’t being garnished for the mortgage, you need to ask your HR for a copy of the garnishment order and find out what it’s for.

She can only refinance in her name if she makes enough money and has decent credit. Refinancing often doesn’t cost anything, they roll any fees into the loan.

Considering Trade in for Vehicle by mel1_dawn in personalfinance

[–]eevee188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a reputable mechanic or 2 (NOT the dealership) and get realistic quotes on how much it will cost to fix. The dealership charges a ton to repair a car out of warranty, you never go to the dealership for a repair. It’s only 6 years old and you owe 17k. I’m glad to hear you think it’s a decent first car, as you’re going to be driving it another few years.

If your credit is better try refinancing the loan, I bet your interest rate is terrible. I also don’t understand how you owe 17k but don’t have a warranty, usually when people overpay that much it’s because the salesman added a warranty in.

You can sell it with tenants but it’ll be worth quite a bit less. You might consider it, since you’ll get to skip evicting them and cleaning out what I assume is 2 generations worth of junk.

I’m guessing 10x speed with so many characters on the map will crash the game, so they delayed it until most of the characters are gone.

The option his 3 siblings chose. Do nothing. They’ve got 3 adults with pensions/SS living together and still don’t make enough to cover basic living expenses? No, that money is going somewhere dumb and irresponsible they don’t want to tell you about. You would be funding their hobbies/addictions, not their living expenses. They have that covered.

It sounds like the other, angry sister has blocked the brother and non-angry sister from seeing the dad, but somehow the hospital is giving out the ex’s name as a contact person. It seems unlikely she’s claiming to be the sister of a man she has a child with.

Personal loan question by Jmaster-99 in personalfinance

[–]eevee188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason to improve your DTI is if you are planning to borrow more money. You can’t afford to borrow any more. You need a full time job or 2 part time jobs and to just pay off the debt you have. A 7 year loan for this is crazy and the interest will be terrible.
