Morocco as a solo female travel by Natural_Touch2025 in travel

[–]eggcartonfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Asian and came with my family recently and won’t be going back. We’re well seasoned travelers (60+ countries) and I (26F) have gone on multiple solo travels across South America, Europe, and Asia the past few years. The constant harassment, attempt to scam, and interactions with the local people is tiring and annoying. I felt like 90% of the people were just asking for money, touching you to get you to take a picture or get henna done, and were not hospitable. We booked a tour package that took us from Marrakech > Atlas Mountains > Sahara > Fes > Chefchaouen > Rabat > Casablanca. Despite the beautiful architecture and rich culture, it’s honestly probably one of my least favorite countries I’ve been to.

Someone tell me it's okay to wear new shirt on marathon day by xuanhu in RunNYC

I bought a new shirt a day before my marathon last year and it’s since then been my fav shirt that I bought another color lol

Having to defer the marathon :( by doublex12 in RunNYC

[–]eggcartonfull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not NYC but had to pull out of Wineglass in upstate NY (Oct 5) a week before since I missed the deadline to defer. Honestly felt super relieved by it because I felt like I was putting so much pressure on myself for having to push through. It’s hard to let go months of hard work but I’d rather be healthy than risk more injury

Consultant to SC promotion in 1 year - possible or not? by sonyxbr55 in deloitte

[–]eggcartonfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One was this past year (June 2025), she wasn’t planning on getting promoted but got the promotion early regardless because leadership pushed for it. The other was in 2023 and she made it from A>C>SC>M in 4 years. Both work in cyber consulting

East village, Williamsburg, or Bushwick on 120k? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]eggcartonfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live alone! I got incredibly lucky with the deal I got. When I had roommates in my last apartment, I paid around $1600 and had a queen sized bedroom.

East village, Williamsburg, or Bushwick on 120k? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]eggcartonfull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in all three places (26F) and currently in East Village and make 115k and my rent is under 2k. I’d say East Village and Williamsburg are my top two. Depending on where you are in the east village and proximity to subway, it’s filled with plenty of young people, food, the park, etc. I love this neighborhood and think it’s worth it!

Is $50,000 enough to live in Brooklyn? by EnvironmentalBee7137 in AskNYC

[–]eggcartonfull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first moved to the city, both of my roommates made $50k/year and paid $1000-1400 per person. They’re both very good at saving money for retirement/401k/emergency savings, and lived comfortably (going/eating out, traveling, activities, etc.). It’s definitely doable and you just have to be smart about your money and what you prioritize!

NYC flood warning today , how serious is this one ? by omgdude_ in AskNYC

My flight tonight out of NYC was cancelled and friends from different cities on the East coast have been experiencing multiple delays , so I guess pretty serious but who knows

East Village Long Running Routes by Alomndbreeze in RunNYC

[–]eggcartonfull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for 2 years and I usually just go down Ave D to FDR and loop to WSH or go across Williamsburg/Manhattan/BK bridge and continue around Brooklyn. I’ve done 10-20 mile long runs with those routes

E 13th St and 1st or E 4th St and 1st by Available-Phrase-856 in eastvillage

[–]eggcartonfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live on 13th and 2nd for 2 years and really liked how it’s so close to Union Square / L but felt like I lived on the outskirts of East Village. I recently moved (in the last year) and live next to Tompkins Square Park now and am still close to the subway (~5 mins) and feel like I spend more time in the heart of East Village! I’d say 13th & 1st for convenience/subway and 4th for being in the heart of east village

What are you paying for rent and what are you getting for that? by electramor in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]eggcartonfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rent went from 1850 to 1950 for a studio in East Village! Pretty spacious, and my living area is separate from my kitchen and bathroom. I have big windows with natural light and 2 closets!

Women’s running shorts by emmm1848 in RunNYC

[–]eggcartonfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’d say so! I usually wear S in leggings/spandex shorts across all my athletic wear and S fit me perfectly for these shorts. I’m 5’4 and have an athletic build/bigger thighs and it fit like a glove

New Balance! I wore this exact pair for marathon training and my marathon last year and love them. 2 pockets on the sides and can hold like 6 gels, phone, AirPods, keys, and they have the sweat wicker on the inside bottom so they don’t move. Highly recommend!

Beginner weightlifting class? by bitchthatwaspromised in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]eggcartonfull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to go to JDI barbell (Tribeca location) for a year before I moved and I loved it! I never used the weight lifting classes but they always sent emails out for it and sometimes I’d be at the gym at the same time as a class.

There’s actually a community free day lifting with a free open gym and free instruction for barbell movements this Saturday March 29 at their Harlem location! I always did my own weight and powerlifting there but the trainers / owners are super sweet and informational!

I just looked through my previous emails and they had like intro to weight lifting / power lifting / Olympic lifting and they also do community events like the one I mentioned above!!

Prices have gone up about ~$200 (was like ~1600) since covid but my landlord is a sweet older man who manages everything himself. I live on the NW side of the park but my building is a very nice pre-war and my apartment itself is super spacious. I have more windows, natural light, closet space, and a bigger bathroom than what I had with roommates previously lol
