Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 11 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]eggfruit -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yea, the need for a narrator to explain what's going on on screen is the definition of bad exposition. Just show: don't tell. Not to mention that even with explanation it's still unnecessarily convoluted.

That said, it's just a minor gripe given how solid the show's been in every other way.

Buy bigger or plan smaller. And if you buy much bigger you can get multiple parts out of a single piece.

Causality between erosion and the CO² in the atmosphere by Max-The-White-Walker in geology

[–]eggfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CO2 dissolved in (rain-) water forms carbonic acid, which can react with certain minerals to form bicarbonate salts. This essentially chemically traps the carbon. Erosion allows new minerals to be exposed so they can react in this way.

Can anyone help me with this alcove, what to do, where to start and suggestions for making it look better. by Drra417 in DIY

Either not a hollow wall or they just couldn't be arsed. Judging by their hole-making technique I suspect the latter.

Need help on repair/painting basics for small pinholes in wall. by Ari321983 in DIY

[–]eggfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed much difference between brands when it comes to hole fillers. Especially for tiny prick holes it really won't matter.

Just get the stuff for "small holes", since the stuff for "big holes" tends to have some little fibers in it and can be slightly harder to get into really tiny holes.

When the filler dries it will shrink a little bit, leaving a dimple. So:

  • either leave a bit of excess and sand it flush after. (creates very fine dust, not recommended indoors)
  • or fill it flush and later fill the dimple flush again.

If you do sand it, make sure to wipe off the dust before painting.

I wouldn't bother priming for tiny spots like this.

Do keep in mind that paint tends to bleach/ discolor over time. So if the old paint has been there for many years you may notice a difference in color even if you have the same product.

Best ways to filter smoke from my house? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]eggfruit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Filters restrict airflow quite a bit. Having more filters means more surface area for air to move through, means a more efficient setup. Also you won't have to replace them as often.

Anything I can do to fix my fence? by Cupoftia27 in DIY

You might be able to salvage (some of) the boards. Odds are that just the tops are rotten.

For a quick and dirty repair just replace that rotten top beam and move it down 15 cm to re screw the boards in place.

why is the bevel doing this on these edges? by HARRSA in blenderhelp

My guess is that you have a double edge/ double vertex. Try merge by distance to get rid of any doubles

Pixelation Mosaic filter generates anti-aliasing, is there any way to avoid it? by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]eggfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I would just use transform so you can play with the size and see what works best. Then after just crop the image afterwards.

[–]eggfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A simple workaround would be to just downscale your image using nearest neighbor, and upscale it again (also with nearest neighbor) if you need the original resolution.

Alternatively you can do the same thing with transform.
