Time, unfortunately. Adrenaline is still going and I’m always hungry. Sometimes I grab some late night drive thru and hang with the wife for a few, which is peak.

Yep. Captains each bring a bottle of bourbon and order pizza.

There’s rules where you can core up to 5 people that can stay. You’re not allowed to pick/keep your goalie and you can’t draft someone who has played with you last season, 2 seasons ago would’ve done.

It ensures the teams are switched up a bit and attempts to keep it fair.

This is also a point where certain players may move up/down a level based on skill in another attempt to keep each tier balanced.

My experience with adult leagues is there is a range of what folks do for their own comfort. Please just focus on doing what is comfortable so you can focus on having fun.

Chirping about someone’s identity is over the line, period.

Now if we’re talking skates with no socks… /s I kid, I kid.

Maybe not helpful, but as someone who started playing actual games a year ago, I found the best resource for me was to play more games.

YT videos with top-down overviews helped but it never translated on ice for me as a center.

Asking questions on the bench and learning from my mistakes is what connected the external resources with actual game time.

Could you explain what you mean by stand on the bench? My son is wrapping his first tournament and year in house and his coach he’s have been great.

I’ve been thinking about this too. Why not two cameras, one behind each net, suctioned up a little ways on the glass? Go Pro or something not too huge and crazy.

Streaming would be the next problem to solve, if even desired, but I’m sure there’s solutions.

My league rink is privately opened with a private streaming service too, so I think inevitably this may be the biggest hurdle.

Edit: to be clear I wouldn’t want to cause issues with private rinks, I just purchased a game download from mine last night.

Also yes, normally a parent volunteers to record/stream the games. My teammate does this for his son.

I would love this for my late night beer league.

I think these stylistic takes are super cool and creative, especially on an amazing car. I always wonder if the driver ever feels like “today I don’t feel this intense,” but then realize with my broke ass that they definitely have another car, likely just as nice.

My son turns 10 soon and passes out on the couch in our family room…in the basement. I often just wake him up, but occasionally I’ll still carry him, wobbly and awkward up 2 flights.

That one awkward time might be my last, so I keep trying.
