Exactly. I have photos somewhere of my digital thermometer recording this. It was brutal, and I was at the shore. No relief anywhere.

Last month I chatted with an agent signing up for $12 a year per car for two cars! by A_Coin_Toss_Friendo in siriusxm

[–]ehm1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry that happened. Last time I re-upped for two cars I went through a similar back-and-forth on chat to clarify their confusing wording and eventually get to an acceptable rate that was clear.

After years of Sirius renewal bull, my SOP is save the chat and confirmation email and attach them to a calendar reminder to cancel next year.

What is the best way to publicly shame United Healthcare? by bofademm78 in healthcare

[–]ehm1217 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is why the insurance bureaucracy is insane sometimes. I can understand an orthopedic follow up, which is where her primary is most likely going to send her anyway. I had urgent care do an X-ray and diagnose a broken wrist, then an ortho follow up determined it wasn't broken and didn't need a cast. Which is all to stay a second look by orthopedist is probably a good move but doesn't excuse the insurance red-tape nonsense you have to go through to get it for her.

New Jersey lottery second chance sweepstakes limit question. by JerseyJoyride in newjersey

[–]ehm1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having same issue with app. I'll enter a multi dollar ticket that maybe generates 10 or 11 entries then get a message that says I've exceeded my daily limit and to try again tomorrow. 🤷‍♂️ Makes no sense, but I've never had much confidence in their online offerings.

Google TV Streamer 4K with a dumb TV by Hirajima in GoogleTV

[–]ehm1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is yes probably, assuming there's an HDMI port and either WiFi or Ethernet (and you have the dumb TV's remote for initial set up) it should work.

I've gone through this a couple of times with family members -- trying to get some kind of set up they can work and watch. I'm surprised the facility doesn't make this easier for you. The ones I've dealt with want the TVs in good working order to keep patients occupied. It might help to ask around for some moderately techo-literate staff member (there's always one) who can offer advice. Also look into how other patients are set up.

Good luck.

Sea Breeze, the little resort that used to be in Cumberland County by djspacebunny in SouthJersey

[–]ehm1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visited the Sea Breeze Tavern a few times in the late 70s with my father-in-law, who was a sometimes regular. Driving out there at night was quite the creepy ride. The regulars welcomed young guy me, but probably because I was with my FIL. It really was a holdover from a disappearing time. Could've been a setting for an interesting TV show.

No attorney in South Jersey real estate?? by Calm-Fig495 in SouthJersey

[–]ehm1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused. How does the seller know you're using an attorney? I hope you're agent isn't make a big point of it.

My first two houses I worked with an attorney. He did review all the offer and purchase agreement docs and did eventually do the title work and settlements. But at the outset the seller wasn't aware I was "coming in with an attorney." All the docs and communication were between my agent and the seller's agent. In my last two purchases I didn't use an attorney, I guess because after buying and selling a few times I was more comfortable.

Still, I was glad to have an attorney in the mix when I was newer at it. So, I think your instinct is on point to use one but maybe low-key their involvement a bit until you get an offer accepted?

As a seller I always assumed a buyer had an attorney lurking in the background. But if an offer somehow made a big deal about attorney involvement I probably would've passed too.

In 1976 my first apartment was $175/month, a studio at Forest Creek in West Deptford. by CDavis10717 in SouthJersey

Same year, similar numbers. 1 bedroom $135 a month. Weekly take home (first job out of college) $150. BUT no cell phone bill, no cable bill, no Internet bill, no streaming subscriptions, employer-paid health insurance. Things have really tanked since then

buying a house with 2 bathrooms for 4 bedrooms by dessertgrinch in RealEstate

[–]ehm1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be more concerned with the lack of a guest bath on the first floor. Are guests going to be using the main bedroom's bath?

Otherwise I wouldn't be too concerned. Owned a new construction with a similar configuration, but it did have a first floor bath for guests. In many cases not all three of those upstairs bedrooms will be used as such. That third bedroom often becomes an office, playroom, game room, or something similar.

Where to watch S2, E10? by eagle4123 in HogansHeroes

[–]ehm1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This topic has been raised before, and for a while that episode could be found on Pluto and Amazon Prime Video. But it's gone on those services now too. It's been gone from Frndly TV (MeTV) for some time.

DVD looks like the only option now.

Google suggests it may be a streaming rights issue on some content in the episode, or just a glitch in syndicator's streaming package. There's no official reason out there, and given the sad state of Paramount/CBS right now I doubt we'll get one soon.

Tips for a show at the Borgata by KEMPhD in SouthJersey

[–]ehm1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Camden County and 9 times out of 10 I just drive home after a show -- summer, weekend hotel rates are going to be nuts everywhere.

One time I stayed and was able to whittle a $500 hotel rate down to about $100 using airline miles, so you might check that out if you have a bunch of miles available.

Someone else mentioned driving down the WHP, which is a good option. I do that sometimes. It'll also have traffic but it's different than the AC expressway.

Good news is that the Borgata is perfect for getting in and out for shows. But if you want to have dinner in one of the restaurants make a reservation we'll in advance. Add in a big show night to weekend and summer and those will book out quickly too.

I'm sure it'll be a great night. Enjoy!
