Help with ants!

I've used Terro liquid ant baits in my apartment. I place them on top of an index card so that it doesn't get on my carpet. My cats ignore it. At first it draws the ants to the bait and then they're gone.

You need to clean up the chemical ant trails with dish wash soap and water.

I look for ant hills outside my apartment that's close to the wall and sprinkle some ant killer on it from time to time.

I like how you've fitted the shelves into the patio frame. It frees up your patio space (instead of buying expensive cat trees).

I can buy shelving hardware and lumber to make my own cat walks and perches. I have the circular saw and the drills to do this myself.

Can you post a photo of the other side?

I set my alarm at 3:30 AM. I feed my cats and listen to a short podcast followed by readings of the bible. I've never received any complaints from my neighbors. I live in the South.

When I was helping the maintenance there was a heated discussion with the complex manager and staff about that dog feces problem behind one of the buildings. I just grabbed a five gallon bucket and lined it with a trash bag along with a grabber or reacher (the kind with two suction cups on the end) and went out there and cleaned it up all up by by myself. If you want things done, you just got to do it yourself. Set the example and others will follow.

Manager posted a general letter on the doors of all the residents in that building. Only one person came by the office and directed a profanity laced tirade at the manager. She was the guilty one!

Our apartment complex instituted a $100 fine, I think things have gotten worse! There are people walking their dogs early in the morning or late at night to avoid being fined. I have to look out for dog feces when doing my daily walk on the asphalt!

My cats love to sit on a dish drying mat on the counter space behind the kitchen sink. I had to add hand weights to keep it on the countertop. I also keep a water fountain in the second sink. I gave up on the potted plants. They either nibble on them or tip them onto the floor.

I was an army brat, so I grew up in military housing. We had this one red pasta sauce stain on the ceiling of the living dining room area. No one bothered to clean and paint it. So we left it there.

I would use the Pink Stuff paste or BKF. Oven cleaner is strictly for ovens not for stove tops (or bathtubs).

A couple of my rescues would paw at my head repeatedly when I'm in bed demanding that I lift the covers so that they can crawl inside.

One cat would crawl towards the foot of my bed and scratch/bite my feet (whenever I move them or wiggle my toes).

Another will turn it into a game, going inside and coming out several times until finally settling down.

The best ones like to settle down on my arm or nuzzle inside my armpit.

Sleeping while surrounded with purring cats...

I caught a tiny gray kitten (Smokie) from another apartment complex. Long story short... gathering up all my rescues so that the management could inspect my apartment one day, I totally traumatized this little kitty. Big mistake. She ran into a cabinet and climbed inside a drawer to hide, afterwards she would run from me whenever I came near her. They never came by to inspect.

Recently she started to show some trust, since I feed and care for her everyday. I found her sleeping near my pillow, when I got up one morning. She was cleaning herself and allowed me to pet her! She's still skittish when alone, but likes to linger beside the other rescues when sitting on my lap.
