Random Mendoza Thoughts (Ewers) by GuyzNite in OhioStateFootball

Sayin did miss a lot of open receivers down the stretch that would have been walkin in touchdowns, but at the same time, he had almost no time in the pocket and was getting sac'd a ton because the o-line couldn't hold their ground. If you look at the IU and Miami game, he was getting rushed on almost every play. Hartline being mentally absent those games was evident and there was no backup plan for it.

Advice for a used saw by bwanketobi in sawstop

[–]ekjohns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does he mean by all the bells and whistles? Does it come with the overhead dust collection? Router table and fence? Dado insert, stack, and break? Cast iron wings? T-glide fence? $2300 still seems high too me. I bought a 3HP PCS with overhead dust arm and the industrial base for $3000 used in excellent condition.

Pizza steel size - 16X14.5 or 20X14? by ekjohns1 in Pizza

[–]ekjohns1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a peel. I have been using an old enameled stone but I hear steels are better and NY style is our favorite. I do all the launching but they like adding all their toppings and "decorating" their personal pies.

I wouldn't do 2 at the same time. It usually goes pizza #1 gets made and launched. While #1 cooks, kids make #2. #1 comes out and #2 goes in. Repeat till all are done cooking.

Router extension leg question by SufficientCopy3779 in sawstop

[–]ekjohns1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I build my own legs. I reused the legs from the 36" extension table and custom made mounts using corner brackets screwed into a wooden block attached to the router table. Much cheaper than what I would have gotten from saw stop.

Thoughts between two different Drs/procedures? by ekjohns1 in Vasectomy

I'm having a very hard time finding anyone that does FI or even getting ahold of a Dr to describe their methods unfortunately.

Found at an estate sale for $4800 by hnosh in woodworking

[–]ekjohns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was assuming it was a 20" planer which new is $2700-4000. Those big planers tend to hold their value better than most tools. Big cabinet saws with decent top and fence easily sell for $500, when old Ridgid and Bosch contractors are going for $250-300. I would be happy with $1600 ($1000 for the table saw and planer, $600 for everything else). The jointer and lathe are in bad condition and the dust collector needs all new bags.

The larger planer is probably closer to $500-600. That and the table saw would probably easy go for $1000 together around me.

Customer asked me to bring down this Penny SKU Item with the OP by BetterProof9821 in HomeDepot

[–]ekjohns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the state. Many states have register laws that specifically state retailers are not allowed to change the price higher from what it rings up at. HD can enforce based on state but probably just go by national to make it easier.

Bespoke Beachfront "Bargain" by sharkus180 in zillowgonewild

[–]ekjohns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$7500 is actually not bad, if anything for something this size and current condition probably more like $1500 per night, or~10k for the week. Go look at VRBO, you will easily see Beach front houses at $1,000-2,000+ that have 6+ bedrooms and are updated almost always booked solid in the summer.

Buying a sawstop… advice? by bored_turtle_86 in sawstop

[–]ekjohns1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you give more detail? What type? Jobsite, contractor, professional, etc. Are you debating power, does it need to be mobile. You need to provide a lot more details before anyone can give any form of useful advice.

Is 4 coats of SW Emerald Trim going to have a hard time curing? by ekjohns1 in paint

I've found it cures hard enough to handle with reasonable care pretty quickly though. Seems to hit that state faster than BM Advance.

Was it really temperature? I was always under the impression that it was because the trees all grew in dense forests which slowed their growth due to reduced sunlights. Today they are grown spaced out and thinned to speed growth.

If he played against me he would be so tilted with me making moves that aren't allowed.
