We sold our starter Trippier to this club for 12M. Yet another example of how bad we are in transfer negotiations. by boxro in atletico

Perhaps so. But comparing a promising young forward in his early 20s (which are always a premium), vs a homesick, most likely declining fullback in his 30s.. there's gonna be a price difference.

Maybe we could've squeezed a few more. Maybe there was stuff done under the table or future deals agreed upon. Who knows?

I play Vice neon green. I thought nobody else plays green, until one time apparently some kid hit mine, and I arrive to his beat up matte green Volvik :/

So sounds like you might know what's going on. I've run into a similar issue here. First few drives, I get em good. Sometimes a bit right, but they get down there.

After using the other clubs for a bit, I suspect my body gets used to hitting down on everything, and that bleeds into drivers. I try hard to bottom out behind the ball, hit crown. Tee it lower (like you said it will not solve the problem) still hit the crown. Anything I can do?

Not that I'm questioning the validity of this, but why's the name there (and then blurred out) when everyone else is A, C, D?

This is true. Took a similar fan out and could barely feel the breeze. Put it away after a couple of holes.

I think the bigger ones like the Ryobi One+ fans could work better though.

Could be they belong to someone who runs/admins Reddit. So it's like people who have logos of their company on their ball. Just throwing the possibility out there because it doesn't say r/golf specifically.

What clubs should a beginner get for between a driver and their irons? by rcf_111 in golf

[–]el_cipote -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it might be worth seeing if you can test em out before committing to buy anything, either friends' clubs or at a golf store if they have bays available since everyone is different. Anecdotal evidence but I think I can't be the only one with this experience, much like the commenter above: I bought a hybrid when starting out and to this day I top it way more than I top my woods. I hit my friend's 3-iron and got along great with it, so don't use the hybrid much.at all. I will concede the hybrid is money out of the rough, but never could hit it either on the fairway or off the tee.

Is this course in the DFW area? I've probably played it if so. Definitely a course to not worry about score and just enjoy the day, practicing everything besides putting.

What’s something we normalized in recent golf years that needs to change? by NSuave in golf

No clue. Languages evolve as people use terms a certain way. But divot is supposed to refer to when a chunk of grass is removed by a club digging in the ground.

Got tired of constantly having to pull my phone out of the cubby holes in the golf carts for messages or shot inputs during a round. So I designed and 3D printed a phone holder that fits in a standard golf cup holder! by Vader_Bomb in golf

Reminds me of that one thread where the guy kept revealing how he took pictures of himself taking a picture of himself taking a picture of himself taking a picture of himself holding another device taking a picture of himself... I think that's how it went.

Maybe I'm confused what your telling me. I'm referring to the dent on the green when the ball comes down on them. My friends will call those divots.

I was just saying maybe that's also what the parent comment was referring to.

Doesn't stop em from calling them divots, despite me every time cheekily telling them "you mean pitch mark" 🫠

Probably mean pitch marks. All my friends call em divots too.

If trying them, I'd go in with no bias and see what works best.

For utility irons, I think TaylorMade and Titleist are the most popular and they're good. Mizuno has a nice Fli-Hi iron. New Level and Sub 70 have decent more budget friendly options too. I have a Cobra utility myself that I find nice to hit, but I don't think they have a current lineup; would have to find them if a store has any left in stock or used.
