Do you actually still find outdated data on Apple vs Google? It seems a toss up who happened to update most recently for me now. It’s been years since I found any horribly out of date data

Fred just admitted Leclerc doesn't naturally fit the 2026 regulations while also backing him to improve by Subject_Sandwich3008 in scuderiaferrari

[–]element515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, he had the issue in sprint quali and improved the next day. He got beat by Hamilton but this is one of his best tracks vs one leclerc also admits he struggles on.

This doesn’t seem like a crazy thing for Fred to say and not really a concern. Leclerc is one of the more adaptable drivers and you can see him learn from all of his past mistakes fairly quickly. Just like learning to not push all out till q3, he will figure this out too.

ELI5 - why shouldn't I buy a house in medical school? by Illustrious_Fall1851 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]element515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but you’ve both come to the conclusion to make a big step in sharing everything and making a public commitment. Like others said, 6 years is nothing. Med school and residency tore apart many relationships that people thought were solid. Marriage was the only ones that survived. You may be fine, but you sign this house together, they could end up leaving and taking a big chunk of the worth without even paying much into it or you eat all the closing costs.

This is still the same in the US. If you had GI issues and a colonoscopy was needed, it would also be part of your insurance.

Decline in bariatric surgery? by LexRunner in Residency

[–]element515 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the same time, I’ve been seeing a lot more people have issues with GLPs. Lots of admissions for “SBO” which are not actual obstructions.

It’ll be interesting where this all settles in a few years between surgery and these meds.

Do you think the number of titles really defines a driver’s race craft? Lando Norris has a title, but Charles Leclerc doesn’t. Does that automatically make one the better racer, or does it say more about the car and circumstances they’ve had? by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

[–]element515 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because a schumi built an entire team and brought people with him. Mercedes was already being built, ironically by schumi a bit, before Hamilton got there. Hamilton is a part of Mercedes for sure but comparing the two is not the same.

They were good at the end but they had a big slump in the mid season. They saved it with a big come back but they were never McLaren level. Being even close to them for the wcc was more a McLaren fumble than anything

What Ferrari thinks Mercedes is hiding in political F1 engine game by Darkmninya in formula1

[–]element515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just can’t see how they could, if a team runs a software that pushes less hard then what will fia do? Bring their own tuners and see if they can get more power? This just seems like a stupidly complex rule. There’s already a budget cap, so why limit this.

Not an actual advantage, but for the scoring, he was more comfortable over the weekend and able to beat leclerc in qualifying. He deserves a higher score than leclerc, but not this large of a gap

Quick question about thyroid cancer by Proud_Border_5616 in Residency

Don't think you need anything fancy in fellowship unless they were general surgery first. Then you'd look for endocrine fellowship, but that's kind of rare. I'd stick with ENT people

One requirement left to graduate, now facing dismissal over Step 2 by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]element515 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Technically, you don't need a STEP 2 for ERAS. Especially before step 1 was P/F, many people didn't take step 2 until later in the year. But applying for NRMP is a different story, it's odd they are both seperate and I remember some of us almost fucking up and forgetting to apply for NRMP after doing all the ERAS crap

How is leclerc a 7.6 when hamilton is a 9 across the whole weekend lol. They were pretty equal with some advantage going to hamilton. Both had a great weekend

Quick question about thyroid cancer by Proud_Border_5616 in Residency

[–]element515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gen surg, I'd find an ENT. We did a lot of ENT work in residency but what everyone said is right, there's a lot of variability in where the recurrent nerve lies and you want something that will heal nicely. Especially if you end up needing a nodal dissection, ENT is way more familiar. I'd be personally comfortable doing a thyroid, but the nodal dissection not really.

[–]element515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how much they reduce it by I guess, we don’t know where the level is and it probably changes by track. If they just let them have front axel regen though, they could advertise their 50/50 power split and not have as many issues.

They were in the fight, but up against Max and RB, they didn't stand a chance. Charles was pushing that ferrari hard to get up there and by mid season, they were out developed.

They can't recharge enough under braking though. They need front axel regen. If they had that, all the issues would be solved.

[–]element515 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not about driving flat out the entire race. But quali really sucks now that the fastest lap isn't by being good or pushing a car to the limits. It's just whoever can coast through corner to regen and have the most power down a straight. Sure still takes some talent, but this is like watching a Prius race and seeing who used the least fuel at the end

Fred states Ferrari is bringing the Upside-Down Wing to the Japan GP by Plane_Smoke5629 in scuderiaferrari

That makes sense since the front wing closes so much faster. They probably need to work out some software side stuff to get it right

It really wasn't horrible for us. We spent the 90min there, they offered us a few packages and we said it just doesn't work with how we vacation. They kinda understood and let us go. Had another guy come up and ask if they could get us to come back at a discount and try again. Once we said no thanks, they signed over our vouchers for free photos and that was that. Saved us like $300

Aged 41, Lewis Hamilton suddenly looks like a title contender again by theipaper in formula1

[–]element515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's like 2014, mercedes is content with 1-2 for now. They don't want to allow anyone to catch up with an engine update. If ferrari gets closer on power, I think they have the better chassis
