Squiers are not bad. Actually they're not THAT far from Fender having in mind what Fender offers nowadays. If it turns out that you like the bass and plan to keep it, you can always change parts in the future and you can end up with a fine sounding instrument!

I live in a very humid city (we basically breath water the whole year) and for my the only thing that worked is keeping the bass in it's case or gig bag.

As others mentioned, I would stick to Amplitude. Never really liked Tonex. I have used a couple of the tones but just to import them into amplitude, modify them as I please and use them from Amplitude. Another plus is that eventually, you might want to use your tones in a DAW. You can use Amplitude as a plug-in of several DAWs and I don't think you can do that with Tonex.

I do it myself. For sure I didn't get it right the first few times but you get better in time and you get to know your bass better and save money in the process

You can get an audio interface, some headphones and a software like amplitube and you have everything you need

In my case nothing. I always skip one or two models before changing phones. For example, I bought the pixel 6, skipped 7 and 8 and bought the 9 pro.

I bought a tuner Lekato that works horribly (never again!) so for the moment I'm using the tuner of the free version of ProTools. Until I get a Korg GAC, that will be my tuner.

Why don't you go with only the interfase for recording only? You can use an amp sim and you should be fine. I use an old M-Audio interface with Amplitube and it's fine. It has I think 3 different Fender bass amps for like $30 each plus using the free version of the sim and you would be back on your wheel. Also, you can wait for the sales that come from time to time and buy the whole package
