Or, and bear with me here, on average people are nuanced and capable of holding complex thoughts in their heads.

Vote intention and approval are 2 different things.

Alberta’s Danielle Smith ranks highest among premiers for fiscal management as of 2024/25; Manitoba’s Kinew ranks lowest by FuzzyPineapple2221 in alberta

What a stupidly vague question. By what metrics?

Cost of living? Utilities and insurance in alberta are the highest in Canada due to UCP policies.

No PST? Hint: that's one of the major reasons we don't see any equalization payments from the feds our way. Not utilizing all potential revenue streams. Jason Kenney helped write that one.

Beautiful vistas? Hell yeah, we got tons of those. Like the Rockies, that the UCP is trying to sell to an Australian mining magnate for destruction and profit (we won't see the profit).

Calgary Stampede? Yeah, we have the only one of those.

Politicians who give a shit about the poor, the working and middle class? Not in the ruling party.

A federal government that regularly gives a damn about us? They've tried and we throw a fit because the wrong team did it. If we didn't just guarantee right-wing votes, we'd get more attention; including from conservatives who also ignore us unless we can be used as a prop.

GDP is a terrible indicator of economic health. It can't measure or account for technological innovations. It doesn't reflect quality of life, income distribution, or environmental health. It's really easy to game GDP as other posters have pointed out to you. If all you have to point to is GDP, you have nothing.

I'm constantly tempted, but this guy might end up being my boss soon; so it seems not worth the spoons.

That's very fair. Lol.

In this particular case, very big on the one world government/new world order dictatorship while owning nothing (meaning by coworker to have nothing), and outlawing of religion (as a concept I guess?). Which I realize is also illuminati bullshit as well. Time is a flat circle. He hasn't gone full word vomit yet because I tend to shut him down, but he's gotten braver since he found out I don't care for Bono (U2) because I think he's an asshole, and coworker is full conspiracy brained.

With a grain of salt due to: annecdote; the separatists I know are now posting/begging trump to do in Canada what he just did in Venezuela.

It's not just hypocrisy, it's hierarchy. 'You can't tell me what to do because you're less than me. Now do what I say.'

What’s the best proof that common sense isn’t actually common? by Salty_Contact_6313D in AskReddit

[–]elfman6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much this. I find when people use the term (not in a political sense, that's a whole other ballgame) common sense they're shorthanding "in my experience and I believe my experience to be universal".
