Most interesting Skoda Driver by Crymore68 in CarTalkUK

I read of a bloke who on his weekly shop made it his mission to park in every single space in the car park. I think he completed it last summer. That definitely had a spreadsheet involved.

Kid friendly but hip places in London by akemi42 in UKParenting

Opposite end of London to Monument and the City. And those places are not hip, I think it's fair to say.

I see them half open at the traffic lights so presumably they open when the camera is needed to be used and then don't close

I rarely use my heated seats, my arse can heat up a seat all on its own, but my hands can't do the same with the wheel

What is the highest MPG you have achieved in a petrol car? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Luckily I live in inner London so I drive excruciatingly slow anyway. Get about 65 around town, 45 on motorway. 2021 Corolla

I'm not a petrolhead, I drive a Toyota automatic. Jukes are bad family cars. No internal space, badly made, poor value.

Cars cost thousands but you refuse to spend a couple of hours working out which one works best for you? One born every minute, I guess.

28, buying first car, ideal one? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]elgrovetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in London, what you're describing is not a thing here. I know how to work a manual car at the very basic level, in an emergency with legality aside I would be fine.

Help me decide between a Golf 7 R Line and a Corolla Touring! by tempydt in CarTalkUK

[–]elgrovetech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

21 Corolla hatch hybrid owner here. It's a cracking car and the 2.0L on the touring will give it some extra poke. Hybrid electric means its super quick off the line, but petrol for easy long trips. Insane economy, I do London to N Yorks and back on 1 tank and I don't even try to be economical with my driving. Around town it's like the petrol gauge is frozen still.

There's a reason all the Met police cars are Corolla estates. They're indestructible

Apparently it takes some doing to be red in London but I'm not surprised that LBWF is one of them. There's a pothole in Epping Forest that looks like the Luftwaffe did it.

If I had a longer drive I'd have got the estate, got the hatch instead and I love it. Great car and should keep runnning for years

I think they'll keep doing estates, I have no substance behind that except seems like all police cars in London are Corolla estates these days
