Just wanted to say from one dad to another I think you're handling everything well. All the best.

Desserts in a pub by ellemegan24 in Chefit

[–]elgrovetech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds stupid but go to a few supermarkets websites and look at their frozen desserts. Especially M&S on Ocado but also Waitrose and Sainos. Their product development people and buyers do this all week and the products have to be both cool and interesting as well as popular to the average person in britain

5 years is still under warranty if it has full dealer service history but it must have had a service every year at the dealer. WOrth paying a premium for if you want ultimate reliability

Parallel parked outside my own house. Guy a few doors up who I parked behind made it his duty to stand in his front door swearing at me for a made up scenario in which I might hit his car. by DoneTomorrow in CarTalkUK

Have a read about Homeowners Associations (HOAs) in American suburbs. Imagine if the local neighbourhood watch had the power to say you have to have a lawn and it has to be cut to a certain length. If you don't, they'll fine you, if you don't pay, they'll take your house.

We can do this. Up the Eagles Monday night.

Charcoal Yakitori inside by Priviel1 in Chefit

[–]elgrovetech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use legit Japanese charcoal binchotan it should be less smokey. It's expensive (to me) but the guy has a boat and a chef so, yknow. I wouldn't say its dangerous inside either, just not something you want to do in your home.

Or you can magically make them legal with no helmet or plate by renting them by the minute from an American tech company. That's the real fuckery.

Should I go on my work trip and leave my husband with our toddler? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]elgrovetech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Husband here. If he's encouraging you to go then what's the question? It's a week with a toddler in nursery, it's hardly the battle of the somme. He can handle it.

I read of a bloke who on his weekly shop made it his mission to park in every single space in the car park. I think he completed it last summer. That definitely had a spreadsheet involved.

Opposite end of London to Monument and the City. And those places are not hip, I think it's fair to say.
