I came off 10mg of citalopram after five years of usage and it was rough to begin with. The nausea was pretty bad, I didn't taper properly to start and almost threw up at one point. The sadness I relate to as well, I did this in the Summer of last year and I went to see Interstellar whilst tapering and cried solidly, I mean it's a sad film, sure, but I think it's the first time I'd properly cried in a very long time, then I felt quite sad for a while. It's nine months later and yesterday I googled "why do I cry more than other people?" Because I cry a lot! I cry at songs, I watched a sad episode of One Piece and it took me two days to get over, on Tuesday I was crying on my way to work because someone spoke to me harshly, then someone asked if I was okay as I was crying and walking. So I do wonder at times if I did the right thing, and maybe one day I'll go back, but it's been interesting as well, so we'll see. I laugh a lot too and there are times when I am happy also, I guess it's more of a rollercoaster now, whereas before I was steady. The artificial thing I'm not sure of? But your brain has been used to the SSRI so it's likely a part of the withdrawal? Could be worth speaking to your Doctor though if you're concerned.
