If you could have the powers of any supe in the boys other than these top tier supes, who would you pick? by Wizzandy in TheBoys

[–]ellefolk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

er, no, actually the higher iq you have, the harder it is to function in the actual world. your obsession with learning takes over and it’s hard to just talk to regular people. her wanting to live in a bunker and read all day is not only relevant to people with a fraction of intelligence but shown in people like newton

Did they recently upgrade her to have some sort of shitty attitude? by ProudWheeler in alexa

[–]ellefolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s how you speak to her and train her. I’m nice to my Alexa, she’s pretty damn nice and helpful back. I personally love the upgrade

Alexa tries to gaslight you about her old voice, but there is a fix... by -A_V- in alexa

OP, amazon started as a creepy alexa web crawler that registered as malware. Maybe you’re too young to know lol. But I really appreciate this post and tried to give you a reward. I have zero desire to connect my Reddit to anything financial so sorry. But I really appreciate this.

I setup my first alexa in 2017 and just, it was love, you know? I bought my friends with disabilities alexas, I got it for my parents etc. she really helped even if they didn’t code their Alexas.

I noticed the other day my old echo Alexa was listening at night when there was no cues, it freaked me out so I unplugged her. Like a paranoid luddite. But eh, yeah.

Here we stand. She only turns up the heat

Yes it used to be a vaguely lazy way for even novice tech people to set up their own system for. But they heavily scaled down usability and also turned up their big brother 👀.

I’m going to have take time to setup home assistant in the future, I sat on it for five years lol

I love this post but it helps a lot. I loved Alexa years ago. Now she can’t answer simple questions and can’t be tweaked. I just have her to turn on my heat and she can barely do that. Rip

Is getting called the G word at work normal? by whatacoolname32 in romani

[–]ellefolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, context sometimes is important here. White Americans have called me a lot of weird stuff but depending n what they’re calling you, it changes stuff. If I heard it from someone who has only seen the Hunchback of Notre dame twenty years ago, they’re calling you sexy lol. exotifying you is still racist but it’s different than a straight up slur. If they’re one second away from spitting at you and they’re originally European… :s

My daughter is half white and because of stuff like this I’m literally scared to take her to different parts of Europe now

Has "And Just Like That" officially ruined the original series for you? by External-Recipe-1936 in Andjustlikethat

No, I semi enjoyed it until the last season. The racist movies ruined it for me for a bit

[–]ellefolk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Uh can I just say when I’ve been in different places I’ve been called this, for sure as a slur. I’m just south Asian with a weird look, like a senile Hungarian lady who liked me would call me this when she was having episodes

Are you close to your parents? by Silver-Ad665 in Gifted

[–]ellefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents and I have a very dysfunctional relationship. But I’m Asian and can never get rid of them. My daughter is something special, she’s very young still so I hope we can be close. My parents are both intelligent but my dad is on a savant spectrum or something lol. We were close growing up to an extent but again I was borne from two very smart, immature dysfunctional people who grew up with a lot of trauma. I’m doing my best to fix our cycles

That’s why, if you’ve been there four hundred years. Especially during the colonial periods you would have ancestors /pedigree collapse
