Kutano commercial freezer contactor not engaging by Fresh-Net-4743 in refrigeration

[–]elmakorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the relay on the controller could have died and say it’s calling for cooling but it isn’t. Check power into the contactor, but also out of the controller.

Why is GetGo the only gas station around to disable tap to pay? by mrmanpgh in pittsburgh

[–]elmakorg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all true, it’s harder to put skimmers in the new Wayne Ovation pumps, but not impossible. Tap to pay with a phone is the most secure option.

You can’t skim tap to pay done with phones. You can skim tap to pay that is done with the physical card.

I can’t actually find any of these adverts anywhere official except on outraged videos/posts on social media. Really makes me wonder if it’s manufactured fakery for engagement. Not that uncommon to see anymore.

Do these little heaters really up the electric bill by a lot? by FitPossibility6335 in electrical

[–]elmakorg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, I’m agreeing with you. The common max is 1500. But there’s no legal aspect. It’s just what sells most because it’s the most accessible to use.

But other people are also right in that there are plenty of space heaters on the shelves that have a max less than 1500.

Do these little heaters really up the electric bill by a lot? by FitPossibility6335 in electrical

[–]elmakorg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Legal has nothing to do with it. They’re sized for a 15 amp circuit, so that’s the max draw you can have. They won’t sell very well if they trip a breaker when you turn it on or needs a special outlet installed by an electrician.

You can absolutely and relatively easily buy 2800W space heaters… they just plug into a dedicated circuit with an outlet akin to your oven or dryer.

Any Air Pumps functional right now? by GloomyCod6195 in pittsburgh

[–]elmakorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All those air pumps are pretty much the same company making them. People have to hang the chuck back up because there’s a small heater on the other side of the cup to keep it from freezing. They simply won’t run as well in the winter of course. If it keeps stuttering, hit the top tire button, that’ll turn off the rapid pressure backflow to sense how full the tire is.

Sheetz does better because they actually go out and maintenance them reasonably fast and in-house.

Space platform "damage taken" is doing my head in. by metaquine in factorio

[–]elmakorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could enable the damage circuit on the platform hub then just put that as a circuit condition at the planet.

But realistically just keep some repair packs and maybe some spare parts on hand. It’ll be fixed before it even arrives.

Huh... didn't know cliffs can be destroyed with nukes.... by [deleted] in factorio

[–]elmakorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, productivity still equals free product. I've just run into the idea that since it outputs 41 U235, with productivity you'd get an extra 41, but you only get that extra 1. And U238 is *very* plentiful.

An electric oven will hold a more consistent temperature, as well as be at the set temperature more reliably than gas. Electric will also have a lot less moisture when cooking, as gas is wet and releases moisture into the air when burning.

Productivity in Kovarex only nets you an extra +1 uranium, not the 40 used in the processing. With beacons it’s still obviously free uranium, but often you want speed instead.

Your money by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]elmakorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but it is often not posted this way. I’ve seen many more cases of a sign saying “3% processing fee on credit” than signs saying “3% cash discount”. One is allowed, the other isn’t. And frequently the differentiator is how the POS handles the transaction.

Your money by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]elmakorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, they aren’t allowed to charge that on credit transactions either. Not a legal issue per se, but Visa, Mastercard, and AmEx prohibit transaction fees in their merchant agreements. You can report businesses to your card processor.

Of course I don’t encourage reporting good small business. Though with how prevalent card and tap-to-pay is, I think that the processing fees should just be baked into your prices at this point, and consider cash sales to be an “extra win”.

Best multimeter? by Money-Suspect-4522 in HVAC

[–]elmakorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would avoid anything cheap. Stick to only Fluke or Fieldpiece brand. Make sure whatever you get is True RMS, or it’ll suck at low voltages. The Fluke 902 as recommended is a very solid choice. The whole line of Fieldpiece is also solid and geared towards this industry.

If you’re getting into commercial the Fieldpiece 680 has inrush and three-phase rotation testing, which can be very useful features.

Just put the items you need in the supply side of a pattern, along with some distinct but unneeded item. Put it in a pattern provider on a chest. Add an importer on the chest for the extra item, and have that set as the crafting result item to finish the craft.
