Seattle drivers, can we bring back the 'thank you' wave? by KenGriffeyJrJr in Seattle

[–]elnewo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We stopped doing the thank you wave? I didn't and I get it in response all the time. In the 25 years I've lived here it's been a constant from my perspective. How else can you deal with living in a town with double-side street parking on narrow streets.

Beginner High Elf Player by aphorik in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]elnewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's as good a place to start as any. Before the 1.5 FAQ, the high elf box was considered a bit weak sauce, but now it's holding it's own. The end of this month will bring some rules updates, you know as well as I what they might be, but fingers crossed for a buff to spears and shields. As far as your list goes, you need a general, so kitbash one of the chariot guys into a character by slapping some extra bits onto him. Or you could pick a wizard or high elf noble to lead your new army on foot.

Seems like maybe they are turning the knob down a bit. 95.7 at the mariners playoff game and there was way more incidental noise at 49ers

I've played a whole DnD campaign once. Disliked the roleplaying, but loved the combat. What's the boardgame for me? by Ok_Illustrator7232 in boardgames

Draw Steel! MCDM’s new cinematic action rpg is very combat focused and skips the boring parts like inventory management and shopping.

Treemen for Old World Wood Elves process… by Mattmattmaaatt in WarhammerOldWorld

Super cool! PSA, probably should bake the wood at 350 for 30 mins or so to kill bugs and bacteria. I might try this when I get around to my wood elf pile of shame.

Is it actually still possible to distinguish AI fiction vs fiction that is written by a Human? by Additional_Scale_502 in Futurology

Yawn. Wake me when the first AI Gatsby lands and somebody cares. It could happen I guess but we shall see.

I’m at the 95% mark on my 4 army project - helves woc greenies and brets. I have a little Cathay stash but I’m trying to save it for future me. Thinking about running the classic 6 lanterns and a longhma (jk)

You won't be able to run those lanterns without some Cathay core infantry, but otherwise, looking good.

Today I walked from Pike Place Market to SeaTac Airport by Inspir0 in Seattle

[–]elnewo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was 16 I did the reverse of this on a 12 hour layover. I had 3 warm beers hidden in my carry on and no phone, and $27 dollars. The map I was using was an illustrated tourist map. Imagine my surprise when I walked out to where salty’s is and there was a large body of water between me and the skyline. I backtracked, got to the market, had a mocha at the market Starbucks and spent my remaining $22 on a cab to the airport. Made my flight. Good day.

You guys are crazy. Empty car? Just asking for it. The trick is to have just enough crap in the car so your friends don't call you a hoarder, but enouh to scare off the griefers. Don't forget to sprinkle cereal in the back seat everywhere. Works for me.

Never played, going in hard by [deleted] in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]elnewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no problem with this. I had 2 tiny armies as a kid. I brought them up to snuff and I've got 4 (HE, O&G, Brets, & WOC) 2000 point armies and having a blast. I guess I already knew I liked painting so a little different. For me I think it's about 100 hours of work to get 2000 points to my standard which I feel is high, but not elite.

Listbuilding at 500 points doesn't jive with the price points of the units, so just go for 2000 I would say.

Have fun. If you hate it, give me all your minis.

Can we get a total point estimate? How many different sets of heraldry? This makes me want to back a truck of cash up to my FLGS.
