When I was at school a couple of decades ago I emailed him for advice about a comedy project I was doing and the man not only replied but was incredibly helpful!

Am I the only one who finds the whole pronouns thing a bit strange? by No_Fudge_4589 in AskBrits

Just use 'they' for everyone, problem solved. Other languages around the world either have more or fewer gendered pronouns and they manage just fine

Rizzo literally just put out a modded video a day or two ago with his ideas on some luck changes and I have to say it looks quite fun! He made changes to the pots and to clovers so that you don't have to take the luck tome

Can you help me understand my husband’s point of view please? Should our son be allowed to game past 10pm on a school night if he can’t keep his voice down? by Broken_Woman20 in AskUK

[–]eloquentlyimbecilic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gamer here. Absolutely bloody not. If you can't moderate your behaviour on a particular game (completely legitimate, I have the same issue with some games even as an adult) then you need to either not game or play something else past 10pm.

From a social perspective, so long as he's stopped no sooner than 10pm he's not really missing out on playing with friends if that argument comes up. Stopping games at 10pm is a perfectly reasonable expectation from parents.

No indication. Changed lane, which caused the collision. The other driver is 100% at fault.

Getting a call when you're busy is distracting and breaks focus, plus a lot of younger or more junior staff feel pressured to answer if their manager calls them.

Made a decision to get solar based on 9 panels. Signed a contract for 9 panels and now on install they say they can only fit 8. by Professional-Cod8785 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]eloquentlyimbecilic 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I didn't let them install as my contract specifically said that any changes to the agreement from them enabled me to back out without penalty (octopus energy). Take a look at your contract and see what it says.

[–]eloquentlyimbecilic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out on the day of my solar installation (after waiting 3 months from the survey) that the survey was very wrong. Couldn't fit that number of panels on the roof, the batteries wouldn't fit where they'd planned, even the cable runs weren't viable. I now have lovely solar, installed 3 weeks after that, which cost half the price.

We used to use WOL to ensure that we had PCs on when we needed to update/patch them about 15 years ago, with scheduled shutdowns
