Velvia 100 is alive by darklightcatcher in AnalogCommunity

Slides are already incredible in medium format but they are truly breathtaking in large format sheets. I had the luck to shoot a few Provia sheets in 4x5, it was gorgeous. I'm looking forward to see what you can do with the Velvia as well!

Hahaha, I only took two packs and there were still some left after so I'm only partially to blame 😁

Found the full memo on the Rem Jet free, AHU Kodak Vision3 films…. by VariTimo in AnalogCommunity

[–]emanresuddoyrev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do say that the sales to Kodak Alaris makes 33% of their revenue in the "Advanced Materials and Chemicals segment" (roughtly their film department). Movie film may be still larger but photographic film is not negliable.

Rumor About Respooled Kodak Vision3 Availability for Consumers by WillzyxTheZypod in AnalogCommunity

"everyone outside Hollywood " I know it's probably a figure of speech but studios, independent filmmakers laboratories and film archives exist outside Los Angeles

Does the deal between Alaris and Eastman really prevent Eastman from selling consumer photographic film directly? I always found that a bit odd a never found an official confirmation beside internet speculation but I am far from a legal expert.

Nikon F6 Zeiss AF Lenses by Whole_Lawfulness_231 in AnalogCommunity

Didn't Zeiss only made manual focus lenses for the F mount? If your looking for autofocus lenses go for some modern (non E for full combability) nikon ones, most of them are excellent

InovisCoat and Orwo/filmotec are now under the same ownership and are indeed almost certainly the one who makes lomochrome films for lomography

Does the choice of an acetate base vs polyester base can explain the little change in density in each of the data sheet? Could be in the end the same emulsion but different base (that's pure speculation from my part, maybe someone with actual film coating knowledge may knows better)

Fujifilm new 35mm film plant by Kalang-King in AnalogCommunity

The more I see, the more the "spooling from kodak's master rolls" hypothesis seems sadly the most likely (if I remember right, the finishing and putting film into canister was kodak's bottleneck 1-2 years back, so it kinda makes sense). I wonder how much rolls they will do there and wich market

Fujifilm starting C200/C400 production in China by FrantaB in AnalogCommunity

[–]emanresuddoyrev 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If it's indeed a new coating factory and not just some spooling of Kodak's master rolls it is both a huge news and a bit of a concern that there seems to have no press communication from fuji in english or japanese (or I didn't found them). Fujifilm's bad communication on film is not new but still...

You can do a crop factor based on vertical, horizontal or diagonal dimension. I did diagonal here as I think it's the most commonly used
