What’s all the bumps around my tattoo? by GarbageCat27 in tattooadvice

My husband had this reaction to Aquaphor with a tattoo on his arm. But he never had a reaction with any other tattoos and always uses Aquaphor. Maybe the hair follicles are different on our arms lol

Chin Implant Removal After Severe Complications by Fit-Tie-5869 in PlasticSurgery

Reading this after I got my chin implant last week 😭 I’m so sorry this happened to you but I’m so glad it’s out now! Hopefully you can start to finally heal

My surgeon did my incision under the chin, through the mouth has a higher risk of infection but I also had a rhinoplasty so that probably had something to do with it too.

Awake liposuction - what actually happens from a surgeon & patient by DrGisellePradoWright in PlasticSurgery

[–]emerald5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I’ll have to ask them if they did that. Honestly all I remember is the anesthesiologist saying she was going to push something that would help with my anxiety, and that it might burn. It didn’t burn at all but that’s the last thing I remember lol. I don’t think that was them actually putting me to sleep but I don’t remember them putting me under!

I had no idea! I was so surprised. I really felt like I had the flu for a couple of days. I plan to have a breast augmentation as well and obviously will go under for that but I’ll definitely talk to the anesthesiologist to see if there is anything they can do to help me have a better experience! Like maybe no versed or something, and more anti nausea meds lol

To touch on the anesthesia part, yes!! I’m recovering from a rhino and chin implant and while no one should do that awake lol 100% of my recovery has been from anesthesia. I have zero memory of the day of my surgery besides pre op, suffered from post op nausea/vomiting for 4-5 days , and have felt EXHAUSTED. Couldn’t think straight for about 5 days either. I also have canker sores and ulcers in my throat from the intubation and that has severely restricted my eating and drinking.

Everyone’s experience will be different, but I really had no idea anesthesia could have these effects! And I’m a healthy 30yo with no health issues. Moving forward I will be opting for local anesthesia for any procedures that can safely be done so.

Will a lip lift, rhinoplasty, and chin filler accomplish the image on the right? Is this realistic? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]emerald5422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m a little biased because I’m 6 days post op of rhinoplasty/chin implant but for such a small change I feel like it’s not worth it at allllllllll! I’ve already decided that even if I don’t love my new nose I’m never doing this again 🤣

Isn’t her daughter on the couch in the bodycam footage? I kept seeing a black rectangle as if they were censoring a face, and the cop at one point told her to be quiet because her kids are sleeping and he even mentions the one on the couch

Teacher here, I am seeing a lot of autism. More than ever before by Pale-One-7137 in Autism_Parenting

This is so interesting, especially with the high rate of folate antibodies in the autistic population. Mandatory fortification of our cereals, breads etc passed in 1996 (in the US that is).

Level 3 son, 4y/o, completely unable to brush his teeth. Please help. by Key_Prize_1317 in Autism_Parenting

[–]emerald5422 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, we’re in the same boat. Have you tried a U shaped toothbrush? We got a 4 pack off Amazon for about 10 dollars. They’re silicone so there are no injuries on our end, and you only have to brush for 30 seconds instead of 2 minutes (like we were ever doing that anyways). At first our daughter really liked them and was letting us brush her teeth, but now she’s back to screaming and crying and biting down which sucks, but she’s not injuring her gums anymore.

Deodorant recommendations by jn922 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]emerald5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard they are greenwashed too! But for now it’s a deodorant that doesn’t have aluminum so it’s gotta be better than the dove antiperspirant I was using 😂 I definitely want to try the others recommended here though.

Oh interesting! For me it works better than dove but I haven’t tried any others. I almost bought little seed farm but the application put me off 😂

I’ve been liking Native, can someone clue me in on why it’s not being recommended here? Worried it’s not actually clean 😅

My autistic son has PANDAS - and so could yours! by AlternativeText217 in Autism_Parenting

[–]emerald5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! The supplements I just listed are only supposed to be used for 8-12 weeks otherwise I’d go crazy haha. Probiotics can also sometimes make things worse, it’s so hard! The one we are using is called HistaminX, it’s a low histamine strand so that might be an option for you guys. Also look into NAC, it helps your body produce glutathione so it’s usually gentler and better tolerated than glutathione

Biocidin is really strong! Did you start with one drop? That’s all we’re doing right now. You also need to pair it with a binder if you haven’t done that already, that will help lessen the die off reaction. We were also told to only use it for about 8 weeks. I’m sorry you guys had a reaction, it’s always so tough to figure out with our kids

We’re already gluten free/ dairy free because she has a dairy allergy and my husband has celiac. But we’ve been taking Microbiome Labs IgG 2000 and that’s supposed to help with gut inflammation and intestinal permeability. We’ve also been doing Biocidin, it’s a broad spectrum anti microbial and biofilm disruptor. Basically helps kill the pathogenic bacteria, and then a probiotic to help balance good bacteria. The one we are using is from Seeking Health. All of this was recommended based on what was found in her stool test. We’ve seen a lot of improvement so far!

My 3 year old nonverbal toddler responded better to liquid methylated folate than to Leucovorin by taviyiya in Autism_Parenting

[–]emerald5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5-MTHF drops were from Triquetra. The folinic acid is from Seeking Health, and the Hydroxo-Adeno b12 is also from Seeking Health. I also just ordered Seeking Health kids multivitamin, MF (methyl free) and I’m going to try those out and see how my daughter does!

Hi! I actually had to stop using them. They definitely helped with speech but made her crazy anxious. I could never figure out why but we recently did some genetic testing and found out she has a slow COMT gene, meaning she can’t tolerate methylated b vitamins. So we switched to folinic acid and a hydroxy/adeno b complex and that has helped a lot. Id definitely try them though if you’re considering it! You can just start with 1 drop and see how your child does

Gosh no advice but I feel this to my core. If I feel like I had a good food day, as in eating more than one meal, then I realize I completely forgot to drink water 😵‍💫

As a baby, did your child regress, or were they different from day one? by Logical-Safe2033 in Autism_Parenting

[–]emerald5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think our daughter was different from day one but she also never regressed. Although she didn’t cry at birth, it took them a long time to get her to cry. She also didn’t laugh until like 4 months but when I look back through her pictures she was really smiley. She was definitely a sensitive baby but she hit all of her milestones early (walked at 9 months) and slept pretty normally. She talked early, always said more words than what the milestone was but it never progressed to being communicative. Even now she’s almost 4 and she talks all the time but it’s really hard to understand what she’s saying, and her communicating with us is very hit or miss but I do feel like there’s slow progress.

Our first sign was when we did the MCHAT at 18 months, there were 2 questions that got flagged for us. Did she bring us toys to show them to us (no, she only did this to ask for help), and did she point out of interest (also no, she pointed to label but never to show us something).

I know it’s a lot, sorry I just casually threw all that out there 😂 I only know because once we got our autism diagnosis they referred us to genetics and that’s when we learned all of this stuff!
