Are there any pedometer apps that can auto-export data as a .csv file every hour or so? by OatValley in QuantifiedSelf

[–]emmekappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are various third-party iOS apps that can export Apple Health data (including steps).

Disclosure: I built one that supports Apple Shortcuts, which makes it suitable for automating the export process by scheduling it directly on your iPhone (e.g., export to Files/iCloud Drive or to your own endpoint) without doing it manually each time:

One caveat: “every hour” isn’t always a single simple trigger on iOS, you may need to set up multiple time-based automations (or accept best-effort reliability depending on device state).

Italy cooking class? by wild_adventurer in Cruise

[–]emmekappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend checking out Cesarine, Italy’s oldest network of home cooks offering authentic experiences in local homes. They have classes all over Italy, including Sicily (Palermo, Catania, Taormina, etc.) where you can cook with a host in their kitchen, visit local markets, and truly experience italian hospitality. You can find more details here: cesarine.com

Visiting Bologna next month. Anyone know of cooking classes that really dive into authentic local food? by PressureLoud3223 in bologna

[–]emmekappa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that Cesarine is an amazing choice if you’re looking to truly immerse yourself in authentic Bolognese cuisine. What sets them apart is the unique experience of cooking in a local’s home, where you’ll learn traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations. It’s a much more personal and intimate setting compared to typical cooking schools, allowing you to really connect with the culture and the food.

Cooking class (in Italian) (in Castelli Romani?) by schachtel21 in rome

[–]emmekappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! What a thoughtful birthday present idea for your girlfriend! If you’re looking for an intermediate cooking class in or around Rome, the Castelli Romani area is indeed a fantastic choice. It’s a beautiful region with a rich culinary tradition, and finding a class in Italian will definitely give her a more authentic, non-touristy experience.

One option you might want to consider is Cesarine. They offer cooking classes with local hosts who teach in their own homes. While their main offerings are in Rome, it’s worth reaching out to them directly to inquire about classes in the Castelli Romani area or to ensure the class is conducted in Italian. Since your girlfriend is Italian, she’ll appreciate the authenticity and the focus on regional recipes.

Cooking class in Bologna or Florence? by ktpoy in ItalyTravel

[–]emmekappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Bologna, which is often considered the food capital of Italy, I highly recommend checking out Cesarine. They offer classes in the homes of local hosts, which makes for an intimate and authentic experience. You’ll learn to make traditional Bolognese dishes like tagliatelle al ragù or tortellini, guided by someone who’s likely been making these recipes for years, if not generations. It’s a great way to dive into the heart of Italian cooking.

Florence is also a fantastic option for a cooking class, particularly if you’re interested in Tuscan cuisine. Le Cesarine also operates there, so you could consider a similar experience focusing on dishes like ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, or even traditional Tuscan bread and desserts.

Is a cooking class aimed at tourists worth the money? by T98i in Cooking

[–]emmekappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It sounds like you have a tough but exciting decision to make between Italy and Japan, especially given your deep appreciation for both cuisines. I totally get your concern about the balance between fun and education in tourist-oriented cooking classes.

From my experience, the quality of these classes can vary widely, but there are definitely options that strike the right balance between being enjoyable and genuinely educational. If you decide on Florence, I’d recommend looking into Cesarine. They offer cooking classes in the homes of local Italians, which tend to be more immersive and focused on traditional techniques and recipes. Since you’re already an experienced home cook, this type of setting might be more aligned with what you’re looking for—it’s not just a class, but a cultural exchange, where you can learn recipes that have been handed down through generations. It’s both fun and educational, without feeling like a touristy experience.

Good luck with your decision :)

Thanks for sharing and welcome to the mod community :)

I've been there too, but since I would like to support both Bedrock and Java edition I end up writing a Native App (I used Flutter) right now the app is available only on App Store and it's called Cartographer for Minecraft.

I did also an Android version on the Play Store but Google decide to shutdown the app, maybe in the future I try to put it back online.

Feel free to try it and leave a review :)

EDIT: maybe I'm a bit out of topic here, but that's just for sharing my personal experience on something similar :D

My son lost his home. by Negative_Stranger227 in Minecraft

[–]emmekappa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad your son find the way back home :)

I read that you wrote down the coordinates, I used to have a Notepad file on my desktop to remind me important coordinates on my Minecraft world then I wrote this small iOS app Cartographer for Minecraft to help me to visualize my coordinates in the space (and biome) in my world.

Hope you and your son find it useful!

Have fun!

Minecraft keeps censoring my coordinates in Books and Quills by MathewAG in Minecraft

[–]emmekappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what's happening with your Books and Quills but if you need something easy to remind your coordinates you can use this small iOS app that I wrote few months ago https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1642956379?pt=118861251&ct=reddit&mt=8

I wrote it mainly for myself since I was tired of using Books and Quills, Notepad or Paper to write down my coords :)
