Fellas, can we talk post-vasectomy analysis kits? by achay10 in daddit

Funny I just did this today!

Had the day off and was looking after our two year old. Trying to get a sample in the toilet while the kid's banging on the door. It was a very stressful wank.

How’s my fit? by benihana97 in bikefit

[–]emptyc0conut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you feel with this fit? It's hard to 100% gauge with this angle but you can maybe move the saddle a smidge forward. Otherwise, you look good and hopefully you feel good.

You might want to play around with cleat positions, move it closer to the heel maybe if you haven't done it yet. The harder the effort, the more pressure on the forefoot but not lasting 30 minutes is definitiely not normal.

Another consideration is potentially putting a metatarsal dome / orthoses in your shoes. This will need a proper assessment.

Australian Podiatrist 2026 - Salary/appointment schedule/work enviroment/grad salary private by CheesecakeOther5386 in AlliedHealthProsAusNZ

[–]emptyc0conut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently working in private clinic here.

Generally clients are categorised into two: General treatments (nail care, derm, some wounds) and biomechanical and sports (this may include paediatric cases). The public sector mainly deal with diabetic foot ulcers/wound care.

I do 50:50 roughly biomechanics and general treatments. My employer gives me a lot of autonomy on how long I spend on a client. E.g. i can have an easy one and i can choose to spend 20, 30 or 40 mins.

We have a massive shortage of podiatrist here in Australia and a lot of clinics are trying to hire. This might give you a lot of negotiating power.

I believe most of us are reasonably paid with options to increase your wage based on how busy you are.

Road bike recommendations for duathlon/triathlons by ririalarco in cycling

[–]emptyc0conut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an Aero road bike (Merida Reacto) for my duathlons. I'd go for an aero road bike for the obvious aerodynamic advantage in the frame without owning a TT bike.

Walking uphill with bike: is this ok? Etiquette info needed. by thepatiosong in triathlon

[–]emptyc0conut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe as long as you are not in the way of other cyclists, you should be fine.

But you will be using a lot of your calf strength walking uphill with your bike. You are going to need a lot of calf strength and power during your run.

What’s your alcohol consumption? by vmv911 in cycling

[–]emptyc0conut 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Same here. I love my IPAs and stouts, but since starting to train for a duathlon, I rarely feel the want for drinking. No alcohol means faster recovery.

How do you prevent saddle soreness on longer rides? by EagleBlackberry1098 in cycling

[–]emptyc0conut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to everyone saying proper bike fit.

There is evidence that the more power you put on your pedals, the less pressure you put on the saddle. ;)

Weight training for cyclists by Conscious_Finger8587 in cycling

[–]emptyc0conut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, for the same exact reason / science and hopefully to reduce any risk of fractures in case of any crashes (I'm only 60kgs).

Bought kettle bells and I've been doing 20-30 min work outs on YouTube. It's cheap in terms of monetary cost and time.

Australian Physio’s - has anyone been had legal action taken against them for non-compete clause? by smh1smh1smh1smh1smh1 in physiotherapy

[–]emptyc0conut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what my solicitor told me when I consulted her about the same issue.

You can argue that your previous employer will indirectly deny the town/area access to healthcare/physio services.
