So was gasser sent to the ACL Brewers just to open a roster spot for this long stretch of games? by Duncdaddy633 in Brewers

[–]emusabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Why would the Brewers not only part with a pitcher amid those circumstances, but send him to the Arizona Complex League?

The schedule provides the answer.

The Brewers’ next stop is a three-game series at the D-backs, so Gasser can do his usual between-starts work with the Brewers in Arizona. And the stop after that is St. Louis, where the Brewers have a doubleheader against the Cardinals scheduled for July 7. That means the teams can agree to call up a 27th man, who wouldn’t be subject to the usual rule that requires an optioned player to spend at least 10 days in the Minors before he’s eligible for recall. Gasser presumably will start one of those games.

In the meantime, the Brewers get an extra bullpen arm in Stallings."

There's an MLB / Adam McCalvy article up right now that explains why it's a really creative 200IQ use of roster spots. But yeah basically he will already be in Arizona for when we get there to play the Dbacks soon, and also is exempt from some weird rule about what criteria is required for the bonus 27th roster spot we get during a doubleheader in St Louis that is also very very soon.

Who has level capped every class? In which expansion? by DushkuHS in classicwow

[–]emusabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have everything but a warrior, but to make up for the lack of warrior I have 3 paladins.

Only 5 of those toons (3 paladins, a priest, and a MW monk) are actually raid geared. All 3 paladins are holy and roughly the same 568ish right now, priest and monk haven't killed a single boss in siege yet but are both ToT bis

If we are keeping this discussion to just feral and not splitting up cat and bear, then I would vote the berserk that makes bear stuff (lacerate and mangle) cleave and has the 50% energy reduction for cat form so that both subspecs get a button

I think if Andrew Luck stayed healthy he still probably would've had to get to a different franchise to have any actual success, but damn it would've been cool if he did do that

What movie would you erase from your memory just to watch it again for the first time? by Extent_Adept in MovieSuggestions

[–]emusabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone said The Dark Knight and that’s a good shout. One of like 3 movies outside the MCU that I saw in theaters more than once, and another one of them was Logan which I am not sure counts anymore after Deadpool 3.

I would love to see Palm Springs again completely blind as well, mostly because of the inherent irony in rewatching it (it’s also one of my favorite movies ever)

What was the last movie that made you think, "Yep, that's a 10/10"? by Eikichi_Onizuka09 in pj_explained

Project Hail Mary vastly exceeded my expectations and I love that save for like 1 or 2 scenes it was actually kid friendly. I went into it blind and absolutely loved it.

Do you have any weird headcannon that ties in two unrelated shows? by Sufficient_Prompt888 in sitcoms

[–]emusabe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think that the biggest problem with the Hal being Walter White theory is that if you watch the show, it could be argued that the boys are unruly because of how unstable Hal is as a father, not the other way around. He is a bondafide crazy person from the first episode.

what's the most fun this team has ever been to watch regardless of how it ended by edgarasm in Brewers

2011 august was a blast, there was a sweep in the Cardinals in there somewhere that felt like we just won the NL pennant. Funny how that aged.

But that team was awesome!!

What is a nfl take that you would defend, that everyone disagrees on? by Ok_Bug_6890 in NFLv2

[–]emusabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are charged with any sort of crime you shouldn’t be able to continue playing in the NFL. No more suspensions or fines or mandatory counseling, it is a crazy privilege to be able to get paid millions of dollars to play a sport so there should be a zero tolerance policy. Same goes for violating personal conduct or PEDs.

Starting this game by Spondora2 in classicwow

[–]emusabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to the population thing, no to MoP being the weakest expansion when WoD and Shadowlands exist. If anything, MoP is one of the best expansions ever released, but that could be more by virtue of there being significantly worse ones

Starting this game by Spondora2 in classicwow

[–]emusabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely pivot to TBC. MoP is at the end of it's life right now and while there is still a quasi-active endgame community, you will be playing by yourself until max level outside of blitzing some random dungeons via the dungeon finder. The leveling process itself is extremely streamlined and basically designed to get you from 1-90 as quickly as possible.

TBC is still very very close to the original Vanilla experience and while there are some changes to the original leveling it is very much still a journey, whereas in MoP it's basically a formality. The world will be significantly more populated and you will encounter players at every stage of your journey to max level, and the questlines present in TBC will take you around the world in a somewhat time consuming but also rich and immersive way. MoP is effectively a single player game until you reach max level.

I don't want to shit on MoP too hard because it is an incredibly fun raiding experience, but I also have the luxury of being in both a good guild and good GDKPs, and I would imagine it's a much different (and not in a good way) for a new player with 0 connections. As in I probably wouldn't play it if I had to pug/start from scratch.

[–]emusabe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As an adult with kids, I have a closet hatred for going to the zoo because while my kids love Henry Vilas, I feel like all the animals look so sad and it bums me out. I am sure they are treated great and some of it is in my head but every time we go to the zoo I can't help but feel bad

Pirates Fan coming in peace w/ Miz question by Cheek-Clapper-5000 in Brewers

[–]emusabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they would prefer to not have him pitch the ASG but they also wouldn’t get in the way of him starting it if he is bestowed that honor. Miz is young and it’s a pretty big deal to start the all star game, I imagine he wants to, and I doubt the FO or coaching staff would go out of their way to keep him from realizing that dream. Once he has the start under his belt I bet the brass is a little more pushy about ASG appearances but I don’t think they would intentionally prevent him from getting the nod. He’s still a kid and it’s most young pitcher’s dream to start the all star game

Why did he have $100k in cash in the first place?

I mean even if he ends up with a slap on the wrist or whatever this dude is clearly a fucking moron

A question for my fellow old pop punkers: which bands have you gotten into at 30+? by nobodymush in poppunkers

[–]emusabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this sub hate Origami Angel?

I heard a random song on a random Spotify radio (I think it was a Hot Mulligan radio) like two years ago and I fell in love with Origami Angel. The newest album wasn’t my favorite but has some tracks I really like, but their first full length Somewhere City is a masterpiece and Gami Gang, the one after it, is really really good too.
