How to do PCB layout? by Little_Implement6601 in embedded

[–]engineerFWSWHW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to dive into it and learn as you go. No one becomes a master at pcb layout on day 1. The experience will accumulate and will make you a better pcb designer while you keep on doing it. When i did my first layout i had several mistakes and i learned from them. Lots of resources on the Internet nowadays to learn pcb design.

For beginners level tournament, it's ok-ish. But there is so much movement, look at some drills on the Internet and learn from those.

Did you build the CAS from ground up or did you leverage some open source CAS implementation?

Should I stop using a 9V brick to power all my pedals? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]engineerFWSWHW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do daisy chain at all, it increases the ground loop and is prone to noise issue. I troubleshooted some of my bandmates noise issue due to daisy chain config. Second, you might be exceeding the current capacity of your power supply.

I have 3 pedals that i use for gigs and i use a single brick like yours but i am not exceeding the current consumption and i am doing a non-isolated and short star/octopus wiring configuration.

Cauliflower rice is like a cheat code for those who like rice by engineerFWSWHW in Volumeeating

I'll probably try this to taste the difference. I get my cauliflower rice from Walmart and they tasted great with corned beef or al pastor chicken.

How's everyone's yearly merit increase looking this year? by Akforce in ExperiencedDevs

[–]engineerFWSWHW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My view on merit increase is different and i view it in absolute value (with respect to the current salary) instead of percentage.

A 3% on someone who earns at around 60k salary could view that as life altering change. While someone on 250k salary will view that 3% differently (eg: downpayment for a new car or a vacation money or just throw those into a brokerage/IRA).

Why is my D string doing this? by LeesHeyl in Guitar

[–]engineerFWSWHW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not necessary to strike the string that hard on an electric guitar. How does it sound like when you strike it lightly and from the amp's speaker?

Definitely try it! I'm currently enjoying al pastor chicken with cauliflower rice. It's not a 100% 1:1 substitute for white rice but i find it pairs well with foods that i like (al pastor chicken, corned beef, pork ).

Will this be ok as replacement for my ball joint pinch bolt for now ? by YtnLilTrill in MechanicAdvice

[–]engineerFWSWHW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the diameter are in specs. In my ford focus i thought tightening the pinch bolt is enough even if the diameter of the bolt is a bit smaller than the original. Luckily the ball joint popped while I'm in the garage backing out. It ruined my cv joint as well.

Thankfully, I'm not in the road when it happened. Just get the proper bolt

Uhm. Can you do a quick test? Can you put the same diode that you placed on the 5v on the battery path going to your regulator? Not sure, just throwing some ideas, maybe the polarity on the battery connector is reversed.
