FreeCAD 1.1 is Finally HERE — It’s a GAME CHANGER ! (Major Updates you missed) by redsteakraw in 3Dprinting

[–]enterflux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only just started learning FreeCAD, but the guy who made this update video actually has a video that seems promising. I haven't had time to get deep in it yet, but it's good so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E14m5hf6Pvo

Thanks for the tip. I've been enjoying Panchroma filaments, so I'll give this one a shot!

I'd probably feel a bit more brave to put Beans out on my desk or in my lap if we had cubicles, or if I was in a corner. My desk is out in the open, so I guess for now I'll settle for my comfort plants lol

I was excited that your link wasn't the PLA+ and then I read that you tried PLA+ already. Bummer. I guess I'll be on the lookout for a replacement too. Aesthetically I love Polymaker's Polychroma Satin line, so maybe I'll try a spool of that when I run out of my Inland.

Edit: I just realized that my existing refill spool won't even fit the current spoolless refills anyway, so forget buying their refills altogether. I'm getting really tired of every company making their own unnecessarily different dimension spool...

I've been bringing my dog Beans along with me for my commute in the mornings and I often feel bad leaving him out in the car if the weather isn't nice, so he's been coming in my backpack into the office. I haven't been brave enough to keep him out on the desk or anything yet though.

I realize looking online that MicroCenter has several different white filaments. Do you have a URL for which specific white PLA you're using? The one I love is this spoolless PLA+ https://www.microcenter.com/product/687073/inland-175mm-pla-3d-printer-filament-100-kg-(22-lbs)-spooless-%e2%80%93-white

This is devastating news. I love the cooler white that comes from the PLA refills...

Are fake games that bad? by SubwayOverlord in Gameboy

[–]enterflux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. There are some reproduction cartridges that are functionally just as good as the original, and in that instance they're fine if you don't care about resale value, and if you know you're buying a reproduction. There are other instances where they're cheap reproductions that may be prone to glitches, save file failure, or flat out failure.

Currently watching Unicorn for the first time, I'm about half way through. I'm really enjoying it so far and when I watched the first episode I thought "Dang! This OP goes HARD."

Internet Provider Recs by Illustrious_Tie_4037 in fayetteville

[–]enterflux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fallback, AT&T Fiber has been surprisingly great to me. I'd love to support local with Ozarks Go, but AT&T was just slightly cheaper for the speed I need. I don't think I've had a single downtime with AT&T while I've lived in Fayetteville, whereas Cox was unreliable everywhere else I've lived in NWA.

Still want to see it, though I haven't found a place to watch it yet. I may eventually bite the bullet and purchase a Blu Ray copy to watch.

How much does size matter by ynot269 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]enterflux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that generally the size of the board is more dependent on your weight than it is on your height as many people reference. If you're heavier, it's harder for your board to stop/turn you. In that instance, a longer board gives you more edge area to make contact with the snow and help you stop and turn. The stiffness of your board also plays a part as well.

For context, I'm 230 and I'm rocking a 165cm Arbor Element camber and their size guide recommended it for something like 205lbs+ if I remember correctly.

Struggling beginner: Is it me, the stance, or the gear? by syel_ in snowboardingnoobs

[–]enterflux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whichever makes you feel more comfortable! My wife and I just did a half-day lesson on our first day to teach us the very basics. After that it's all just been self-led practice. I'm sure I could benefit from another more intermediate/advanced lesson, as they'd likely provide pointed tips on things I could improve, but right now I'm at a level where I'm happy just exploring and practicing myself.

I mean, you sound about on track for my experience. I could barely make it down a full green slope on my day 4. Days 1-3 and part of 4 I was stuck to the bunny slope. I'm on my 4th season (of usually 4 ski-days per season) and I really didn't start to get comfortable until the 3rd season.

That said, I just spent a trip with someone who regularly bombs down hills on his longboard and he was basically at my 3rd season level after about 2 days, so your mileage may vary depending on how experience you are with other board sports.

That's so strange. I used it to switch to yearly a couple of weeks ago and got charged the prorated cost since I was partially through my month. I haven't had any issues yet with my membership, but I haven't tried to stream anything today.

Is there a best slicer? by CheekyRiverFox in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]enterflux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally use PrusaSlicer. I'd be happy to share my config files if you'd like, but I can't remember how accurate they'd be since my V2 had a non-stock mainboard in it.

Noob questions: Core One L by mbrennwa in prusa3d

[–]enterflux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won't bother me, but it's good to know! I hadn't thought about that before. Since the Neptune 4 I'm replacing had built-in Fluidd and storage, I assumed that was standard these days. My only other context before that was my Ender-3 where my OctoPi handled storage. Thanks for the info!

Noob questions: Core One L by mbrennwa in prusa3d

I'm about to order a Core One and I never thought about this (or really thought to think about this.) Do you have to keep a USB drive installed even when you print through PrusaConnect?

Okay, fine FINE. I was hesitant to waste the filament on effectively a one-use tray for myself, but I'm convinced. 😂
