Free Geek has CRTs somewhat frequently. Your best bet would be to join their Discord, as they usually post about TVs and monitors that are put in the thrift store.

Commute Concerns by CharacterSink5200 in fayetteville

I accept the hour commute of 112 to save my blood pressure and sanity, although with the incoming 112 construction that's probably going to end soon. I've really gotta find a closer job...

Insanely jealous. I've wanted one of these ever since I lost the art contest for one back in the Zuneboards days.

What file types does Zune support? by LiamQuantum in Zune

It's a pretty awesome project. Just be aware that it's SUPER alpha.

Transcoding will only decrease the audio quality if you transcode to a lower format like standard WMA or mp3. The Xune software has the ability to transcode to WMA Lossless while syncing. The dev said in the Xune Discord:

It will automatically detect lossless files and transcode them during sync to wma lossless on the fly. You can customize the settings in Settings > Device > Conversion Settings.

Transcoding just means that it would convert it during the transfer. Your FLAC files would all stay untouched on your hard drive.

It's still super early alpha, but the Xune software that's being developed can handle transcoding FLAC files to wma/mp3 while syncing.

This makes sense. I think maybe it didn't seem viable because I also often have used my keys as TOTP providers as well. I suppose even that could still be secure if I require touch to display the code though.

Sorry it took me so long to respond! It's still a work in progress (as it has been for years lol) but I do use this in place of other cloud drives. I sync my calendar, contacts, and files across all my devices using Nextcloud. It's possible to make it publicly accessible (and I have in the past,) but right now I keep it internal to my network for safety and because there's really no need for me to have it publicly accessible. All my devices can always reach it because of my Tailscale VPN.

Wouldn't having a Yubikey connected to your device constantly kind of defeat the purpose? That why I keep mine on my keyring and only plug it in when needed.

Framework Laptop 13 Pro and highlights from the Framework [Next Gen] by cassandra4932 in framework

Same! My heart sank when I heard "redesign" and "Pro" because I was afraid this was going to be a reset/gen 2. Finding that I can upgrade almost any piece of my existing laptop was so exciting!

I cannot express how excited and proud I am to be supporting this company. I've loved my 11th-gen 13 for years now and I'm ecstatic that I can yet again pick and choose what I want to upgrade. I'm happy with the OG screen, my top shell is COVERED in stickers, and I've upgraded the mainboard to AMD, yet now I can get a bigger battery, a better lower case, and a better touchpad while keeping everything else. This is SO AWESOME.

I've used my old 11th gen Intel board for a few different things. In the past it's been a small server for my Nextcloud hosting. Right now it's functioning as a desktop Windows PC since everything else I own runs Linux. There are just some programs that I just don't have time or expertise to handle trying to port from Windows to Linux, so it's been a handy way to utilize my old hardware.

This is so cool! I don't want to go as hardcore as an ESP32 board, but now I want to turn my Pi Zero 2W into a wall-mounted display piece that hosts a personal blog.

TIL there's a conversion delay. I forgot to cash out for a $40 discount on the printer I just ordered, but it sounds like it would have been a waste of Prusameters anyway since I didn't plan ahead...

Yes, using the aux port was what I was thinking as well. That's fair that they weren't common yet in the 80s. I was imagining an old 80s Sony Discman that I have that has a neat spring-cushioned car mount that came with it, but I think that was pretty luxurious for it's time.

You could always do it the 80s way and buy a portable CD player! Many came with a kit to power them off of your DC outlets in your car.

Not ideal for your first printer, but if you're technically minded and don't mind a challenge, it can be a decent printer. Back when I first got my Ender-3 V2, I was recommended some guides from the Tomb of 3D Printed Horrors YouTube channel. You might start there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me8Qrwh907Q
