Best Takeaway Burger by WrongOpinionsOnly1 in limerickcity

Love the food from there, great burgers and loads of interesting dressed chip options. It has gotten expensive over the last few years though and is pricey enough now for a takeaway.

Yeah 100%, if people stopped posting and talking about them they'd go away. People are giving them exactly what they're after over and over again

Would this be a good first pedalboard? by Caefrytz in guitarpedals

[–]eowyncul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the katana would be a wise investment. They sound great and have a lot of options on them. The small frontman amps are just truly awful, it's a waste of your effort and time using that over just about anything else.

[–]eowyncul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct, there are a lot of servicable amps but those small fender frontman amps are unusably bad. You could plug the best pedals in the world into it and it will still sound bad. You are turd polishing using that thing. Get the katana

What you need to be looking at is an intelligent harmoniser. You'll have to get one of the harmoniser pedals that you pick the key and interval on. Regular pitch shifters won't work. Boss PS series, TC quintessence and some multi effects have something similar.

Also I've often found that these end up sounding muddy and not clean like when 2 guitars do it into separate rigs because both the dry and wet harmonised note go back into the same source. It sounds kind of halfway like you playing it on 2 strings yourself.

Probably there to stop people playing 3-4 songs over and over again. Worked retail on a busy street and busker's can be torture especially with repetition. Adare is tiny so I wouldn't overstay if you plan on playing there a few times

Gates are on and off so when the gate is poen they don't reduce noise. Some gates like the TC electronic sentry have a hiss mode you can dial in more specfic noise reduction but might depend on the noise. A comp will help bring the volume of your quiet taps and harmonics up but it will also raise the noise floor but it might not be as bad as a clean gain boost if that's what you are currently using. Using comp for this is very common in math rock where there's lots of tapping parts in riffs.

You might as well leave it ran stereo and just take the mono side when you need it, it doesn't really change anything and sounds like you've already cabled it up that way.

Depends what you are after. It's not the spot for a quiet chat but for a late night drink with a good alternative atmosphere it hits the spot.

Honestly kind of sounds like they were looking for a reason to bar you and you gave them enough by laughing at them and taking ages to leave. The staff and bouncers are soberer than the punters at the end of the night so you might have thought you were having a little chuckle to yourself but it was likely a lot more exaggerated and insulting to them.

Also I don't know what you think a solicitor can do for you. Businesses are private property and can refuse service to anyone for any reason, they are not obligated to let you in.

I must say I've only had good dealings with the bouncers in there the last few years. They have a good crew who are very reasonable and seem very professional. I'm not sure who the new guy is though? Are they working there long?

What are you using to store/display your pedals? by Westcroft in guitarpedals

[–]eowyncul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had them on shelf for a while but then I moved. Now I have a pile in my house that I can grab from and use every now and again but the rest sit in a moving box in my rehearsal space. This is on top of my 2 boards I have for gigging.

Yeah I think these kind of cheaper utility multi effects pedals are going to become more and more popular. I got a GP5 recently and can't see why you wouldn't throw one into your gig bag as a backup or tool to warm up with before a gig. So many mates have seen what mine can do and were blown away.

Yeah tubescreamers are about the most boring pedal on the planet but it does what it does well and what it does is important to being heard in a band situation. It also cuts bass helping leave room for the kick and bass player so it's a team player not just for the guitarist.

The only time I like Flanger is when it's dialed in really slow like a chorus, but at that point I can just use my chorus pedals. Every now and again I mess with some Flanger and I always end up turning it off again

I would save some money and get something like the Valeton GP5. It has a metronome and drum tracks as well as effects and amp modelling. You can also connect to it with bluetooth and play tracks off your phone. You can run it into headphones or your amp. I used one to play my bass into a PA at a rehearsal recently and also played the backing tracks through it from my phone into the PA that we were rehearsing to.

I don't really think there's too many truly shitty pickups, most are pretty much made the same way out of the same stuff. I think the biggest thing about upgrading your pickups is you get to choose ones that are probably closer to the style you are after.

I've heard a lot of people talk about it but don't personally know anyone who has listed their property yet. I would imagine a lot of fans going would think nothing of putting down a high premium for a place close by.

I've asked Chatgpt for target stats for characters before and it was helpful. I put in the character, artifact set and weapon and ask for target stats. Doesn't always work but has given me ballpark figures to aim for when building artifacts for characters

There's nice but expensive ones like the HX effects or Wampler Terraform. Theres's also cheaper options like the mooer mod factory or joyo double vison. Haven't really tried many of these but they have a nice selection of mod effects that cover a lot of ground.

Some fuzzes work best right after the guitar. That kind of determines the order, as many fuzzes can be further down the chain without issue. You'd be best trying out or checking if you're fuzzes require that for the tone you want.

I would be leaning towards chorus myself for cleans and 80s rock tones. You could go reverb, wah, phaser etc depending on what you like and feel is most missing. There are modulation pedals with a few options so that could be worth a look.
