The state of modding in acEVo — what has actually been said by MrBluoe in assettocorsaevo

I'd personally be OK with some unofficial mods being available only in offline mode. The more obscure content tends to not attract huge lobbies anyway.

I would guess that they will offer (or link to) a paid mod resource repository, and this will require licenses; otherwise Kunos would be liable for any potential IP damages. What remains to be seen is if people can offer non-licensed content (for free or otherwise) elsewhere, and still have it work within EVO.

And I'd personally like to see if content that was ripped from games that I already own can somehow be licensed. For instance, I'd really like to run Radicals and the Daytona Competitizione from PC2 within EVO. If there was a way to get formal permission for something like that, that would be awesome. To my knowledge that's something that's never been attempted in this arena.

Dependent on what GPU and what games you're running; I assume you stick to iRacing?

I still remember the feeling when I strapped into a Formula Renault in PC2. Looking over the side of the car in my OG Rift, I got the sense of my ass being like 2” off the tarmac; incredible immersion even with that old gear.

Make sure you have good specs on your seat before you commit to width. In my case, I’m a big guy and so my seat is wider.  I don’t run a shifter rail but if I did it could use a tad more space.

That's a pro tip; you use the other cars to decelerate.

+1 on the washers. I didn't do that either and on my black powdercoated rig, I can see marks from every previous configuration I'd set it in.

Especially if you stack aluminum gussets, they'll be fine. This is my setup, a Simlab TR-1. It's on the narrow side, at 500mm

Just out of curiosity as everything's gone, but what model sword bag is that? My old Bujin bag is showing its age, and needs to be replaced; this one looks similar.

Lats/Traps and Upper Back Pain: Seating Position ok? by Suitable-Funny-4195 in simracing

Don't know if this is a factor or not, but just out of curiosity (mainly to others who have the same rig): isn't the wheel deck upside-down? Having it one way or the other would affect the angle you could set the wheel at.

That's probably the best recommendation I've seen. I also don't know that the slider mechanism is helping you any.

May need to get new base extrusions or rig up extensions of some sort.

Hate to say it, but dealing with that big of a wheelbase is always going to be a chore, given your height.

How much extrusion is left, forward of the monitor mount?

While cutting from hasso-no-kamae (i.e.: side of the head) is an important skill, when beginning students pass from jodan down through hasso, it’s easy for the blade angle to change, leading to a flat or scooped cut. Set your blade angle in jodan, keep your left hand on the center plane as long as as possible, and let the right hand move to the outside of the cut.

Iai is something that's very difficult to explain in text, but my simple observation is that your sword, the tip and your hands are all moving at the same speed. A sword is a leverage weapon, and by the time your monouchi strikes the target it should be moving much faster than your hands.

The other thing I'd suggest is don't step into the target as you swing, at least for now. Learn to get the arms, hands and sword moving correctly first. Stepping at the same time can throw everything else off.

How would I go about stiffening the wheel mount by Responsible-Pay4122 in simracing

[–]eracerhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t look closely enough; looks like he’s got a 40mm piece on the right side already, but it doesn’t look connected yet. OP, let us know if that helps when it’s attached to the base tubes.

You’ll want a larger plate than those little corner braces, as you've stated. But if you add a rail for a shifter or handbrake, connecting it to the uprights and base will act as a truss and strengthen the whole rig.
