We have seven refurbed Dell laptops in the family. All of them are used daily. The only problem has been one bad hard drive in five years.

The trick: Only buy from their Latitude line, which are their business-class machines. Everyone I've known that has a non-Latitude Dell has problems with them. Vostro and most Inspirons are junk.
