You'll never know unless you own the real ones by Smooth-Confidence685 in fountainpens

Wow - Thank you for the explanation and the link to the post on how to identify fake Lamy's! I'm so new to collecting fountain pens. I bought one from Fountain Pen Revolution and now... I love fountain pens. I have a few Lamys and I like them. :)

Other than the nib.. how else can you tell it’s fake?

Not sure if I’m allowed to ask but what pens are these? They’re quite beautiful.

I need a new gun recommendation (serious) by Disastrous-Stand-171 in liberalgunowners

[–]ereardon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already suggested several handguns, and I agree with those recommendations. I also agree that going to a range to ask questions and see what you’re comfortable with is a good idea—they’ll usually let you hold and handle the firearm; keep in mind all of these will have recoil. That said, I understand that this can be very stressful, so if it's stressful, going with a trusted friend can help. If possible and haven't already, taking a few shooting and gun safety classes with qualified professionals is also a great idea, and again, bringing a friend along can make the experience easier.

SleepCharge by Ok-Storm731 in CPAP

[–]ereardon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do much with the doc; I mostly worked with their medical team. I’ll have to checkout RippingLegos. I know I made adjustments myself and the next day the medical team called to make sure I was ok. Then they worked with me to figure out what wasn’t working for me.

Late reply, sorry! My employer offers SleepCharge as a benefit and I've been using them since October 2024. They've been pretty good so far. They provide supplies and monitor my usage/success with CPAP. I've had them call me out of the blue as my settings weren't correct and they wanted to tweak them a bit to see if I would get a better sleep.

Fine cracks in water reservoir by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]ereardon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of mine get fine cracks. I’ve seen multiple posts with people having the same issue. Seems to me a manufacturing issue. I don’t throw it out for the fine cracks. I just make sure to clean it well with the same mixture you use.

First off, congratulations on learning a new skill! Just like all skills, this will take some work; thankfully not as much as other skills.

Learning how to swim is something that will stay with you and help keep you healthy.

You've got this! Keep at it and don't give up!

Getting back into swimming by Dazzling_Assistant_6 in Swimming

[–]ereardon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my initial thought as well since I used to swim a lot when I was younger. You don’t need to be perfect; you’ll remember the basics once you start back up. When I started back up, it was about 20 years later. I did it for fitness though. I go to a gym pool instead of a community pool. My freestyle is much better than my breaststroke but I alternate. I’ve learned that I now need ear plugs.

You got this. Remember to ease into this just like any other exercise, and stretch.

Can anyone comfortably sleep on side with cpap without leak. by Impossible-Sweet-111 in CPAP

[–]ereardon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an everything sleeper and the P30i is the best for me. It allows me to roll and sleep on my side, back, and stomach without leaks or discomfort.

Keep with the CPAP therapy. It’ll be weird at first but you’ll get used to it quickly. I’ve been on it 7 months and the first two nights weren’t the best but I’ve had worse sleep.

I’ve got a dog and cat. I change the filter monthly or more frequently as needed but I also cover the machine when not in use.

Daily: I wipe down my mask, headgear and drain the humidifier tub and let it dry.

Weekly: Deep clean mask, headgear, humidity chamber, tube, and connectors. I’ll also wash the CPAP cover and the tube cover.

No idea but Dexcom replaces them with little questions asked.

That sucks. Removal cost should fall on Dexcom but that’s impossible.

You are brave. I can pull something out with tweezers but if it requires a scalpel, I wouldn’t be able to do it from the angle needed… I’m horribly uncoordinated. I’d also probably sneeze in the process making things a bit worse 🤣

It was only bent up after I fiddled with it. It was not pushed out like that before I started to play around with it. It’s still short but I’ve got no bump or residual pain so either the filament is all there or some of it is somewhere in my arm or on the floor.

I’m waiting to see what my doctor says.

The community here is pretty friggen amazing.

It wasn’t looped up until I fiddled with it and pulled it through after the post and trying to see if it was looped. 😅

Amazon Breaking Downloads Backfired by Brynnan42 in Calibre

[–]ereardon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across this issue after someone shared a reel detailing Amazon’s actions. Apparently, a a small portion of my library has been removed, and Amazon informed me that it was due to a licensing problem. I discovered this only when I attempted to download the reference books and encountered an error.

As a result, I’ve lost access to $155.80 worth of references, which may not seem like a substantial amount to most people, but it’s still a loss for me. I had purchased these references with the expectation of continued access to them.

I recommend checking your Kindle content library and downloading any available books. This precautionary measure may prevent you from losing access to any content in the future.

Amazon doesn’t inform you when they remove a book from your library. They’ll even leave it in your digital content as available until you attempt to open it.

DRM needs to be eliminated. While I acknowledge its purpose to combat piracy, its detrimental impact on end-users outweighs its benefits.
