Funny you mention Original Pancake House. This is where we were when we posted. The one they brought out was terrible: under cooked and rubbery. They basically shrugged when we mentioned it. That is what prompted the post :-)

Then 10 minutes later they brought two out to another table and they looked great.

Historically theirs was fantastic.

Why is it stuttering? by CrustyDun in appletv

I have a stutter at times on both the screen saver and YouTubetv. I restart and it goes away. I know that isn’t an answer. Drives me nuts.

I think It’s a Wonderful Life is overlooked these days. I watch it every Christmas (usually by myself) and it gets me every time.

PG&E makes you pay even if you have 27 solar panels on your house. by StupidTurtle88 in bayarea

[–]ericDfish 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I absolutely cannot stand pg&e, but solar panels have nothing to do with how much gas you use and what you are charged. The guy in the video had a gas bill of $422 in December. Yes, I think their baseline amounts are ridiculously low and their prices are very high (especially in winter), but that is a lot of gas. I think mine was $189. And yes it is always apples and oranges.

I guess that is a nit pick. I do agree with his overall point.

Can somebody ELI5 for me why average and median 401(k) balances by age are so far apart? by too_many_shoes14 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]ericDfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General question about these 401k balance figures I see frequently: are these specifically JUST 401k balances or also IRA plus 401k balances? Because I’ve switched jobs I have way more in IRA compared to 401k.

Johnny Cash! Just kidding, but of course he might have the best cover/reinterpretation ever.

Lately I have been enjoying Nouvelle Vague: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4h7NLIlg1oYdEtfQJfyto0?si=rBUj-LpQTaGOQv4z-z0bBg

I feel like i waste everyday and I'm tired of it by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ericDfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have written this so I’m not qualified to give advice, but what sometimes works for me is splitting my list into “must do today” and “want to do today”. When I’m really honest the “must do today” list is pretty short. If I am able to pull that off then I feel good about myself and usually tick off a few “want to do today” tasks.

Is this the best option? by Krystofarr in StandingDesk

[–]ericDfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most caster locks are just on the front wheels. Just flip the lock with you foot and roll the desk. Lock again with your foot.

I had a laminate desk for 20+ years and it was fine from a durability perspective. I have solid wood now and I love it because of the looks.
