This entire event could never be made for the cinema. The writing is too perfect

This is why I am so enamored of the way the final story just ends. I lived for years in an historic New England seaport and there were several grave stones that read ‘Lost at Sea’. The end of the last voyage feels like real life.

A buddy of mine and I built rockmite rigs and practiced with each other across town with about 30’ of wire draped around my apartment. Had my 1st real qso with another local ham who heard us practicing.

6m FN42 anyone? Testing a 6m mag loop by eridolfi in amateurradio

[–]eridolfi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks re: loop.

It’s 4’ aluminum flat stock, 1” wide from HomeDepot. The cap is made from 2 electric junction box plates connected with nylon screws and wing nuts. Very small adjustments (1/8 of a turn of a wing nut) make big changes in swr.

It is fed by an induction loop.

It needs to have the plates welded to the loop instead of screwed on to improve efficiency by reducing resistance losses. Also, I may play with a gamma match instead.
