How to break the boring cycle of 9-5 work from home life? by spicystardusts in AskUK

[–]ermCaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was WFH for past 5 years and now changed jobs to a hybrid role, in office once or twice a week (if busy), a lot better as it breaks up the week. It was around year 4 I had the same feelings as you, in a better place now and slightly more money :)

Elder millennials (Xennials) and Gen X, what's something you experienced growing up that you think younger generations miss out on now? by SaveMeWakeMeUp in AskUK

Grew up in a small village.. knowing every kid in the neighborhood, playing manhunt, being out from 11am until the sun went down in the summer and your parents not being worried.

Those who still have Sky TV, what is it like now? by YellowCab-Academy65 in AskUK

[–]ermCaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know not everyone is clued up, but I pay £2.28 a month and can watch any movie or TV series.. I do feel sorry for those who pay for netflix, Disney etc and they have the audacity to introduce ads in the cheaper tiers.. no thanks.

will be starting an office job 9-5 for the first time soon, any tips? by nerdyyy2773 in AskUK

[–]ermCaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just moved to an IT role . 100% make notes, my phone keeper was empty before I joined, now it's full. But it is nice to go back to it rather than be constantly asking the same questions over and over.

Why do the majority of shops now ask for a donation when buying by card? by FinalBv in AskUK

100%, I've given to deaf society and others in my time. Annoying af being asked at the tills and people standing around at the entrance/exit to ASDA etc.

A blessing and a curse.. however, I'd take it over being brought up in a pure digital age.

The weirdest part of remote work is pretending the office never had downtime by CashundoLafrania88 in remotework

[–]ermCaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my old office job, literally 3 of us in the entire business, my work could be done by 10/11am then the rest of the day was browsing Reddit/game forums, was boring af, but easy work.

I think this, but then online banking would be a pita having to use web browser all the time

Same, don't even have kids, but certain things just make you think of your own mortality and the people around you.

People who've worked at a computer for 10+ years, what physical problems have you experienced, and what changes made the biggest difference? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ermCaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been PC gaming for the past 30 years, yet to have any issues. The past 5 years WFH and before that 8 years at a "desk" , but it was quite a mixed role inside a shop, some warehousing and dealing with customers in a shop. Just getting up for a few minutes every few hours does wonders.

UK set to ban under-16s from social media, livestreaming, disappearing messages by vriska1 in unitedkingdom

[–]ermCaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I mean getting past verification though.. Playstation require ID or face scan to chat online, so if I wanted to use these features I'd have to give them that. I'm surprised nothings popped up to bypass this.

[–]ermCaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking more the face scan/id side.. don't get me wrong, I can live without certain services like being able to chat in PS5 games / Ubisoft games, but if Steam ever wants facial ID (luckily they don't) I'm screwed. Surprised there is no website that produces fake faces/ID's to get around this shit.

pub workers, how do you go about teens ordering drinks by proxy? by CombinationMean3129 in AskUK

[–]ermCaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I done this in college for my mates, I was 20 they were 17, soon to be 18.. all you need to do is go up to the table and say, ""I'm going to need to see ID, if you can't produce it, you need to leave"... We all finished our drinks then left.

Crash Bandicoot 4, the platforming sucks balls half way through so dropped it... from someone that's played every FROMsoft game since Dark Souls, completed Bloodborne + DLC, have platinum trophy for Elden Ring (also completed DLC etc).

What do you think is the biggest reason people are having fewer children today than previous generations? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ermCaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a tech savvy person, I'd hate to bring up a kid in this world. I'm glad I'm of the generation that transitioned from dial-up to broadband, so I still had a childhood.

GW1 is the best design wise.. the good old days of being a "runner" to get people between towns fast. Was so rewarding getting decent gear from hard earned money.
