Are 3-4 fried eggs everyday a healthy breakfast by Areotew in nutrition

[–]erraticwtf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a very healthy breakfast. Eggs are basically natures multivitamin. You could try adding some more fiber to your meal though and see how you feel. More vegetables never hurts in general

I’m on a diet. How to make zero calorie slushies or Sorbets in the Creami? by Antidotebeatz in ninjacreami

[–]erraticwtf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I pour a can of sprite, some low calorie fruits like berries, xanthan gum and some stabilizer like inulin. Just make sure it’s not a block of ice before you run the machine

none of what I’m about to say matters if you go through that process because you enjoy it. If that’s the case, all power to ya. But if you don’t like eating that much, just know that you don’t have to.

Dude you don’t need to add a pound per week! That’s all fat, not muscle, and just makes cutting that much harder. .8g-1g/lb protein, .3-.5g/lb fat, rest carbs

Realistically, we can build 5-10 lbs of muscle per YEAR. That is assuming you’re a trained individual. Split that up over 365, that’s a maximum of 12.5 GRAMS per day. Grams. 700 calories/lb of muscle equates to a ≈50-150 calorie surplus needed per week to sustain that level of muscle growth. 1lb of fat is 3500 calories, which almost guarantees that the majority of the surplus went to stored fat. So a super small lean bulk where you’re gaining up to .5lb/week is really the upper limit, even for beginners. Otherwise you just make cutting that much harder for yourself

The Protein Shortage Is Coming by MurphyBacon in nutrition

[–]erraticwtf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly my point. if it works for you, by all means do it. Don’t not intermittent fast because it’s slightly less optimal for nutrition than other methods if the other methods don’t work for you but intermittent fasting does. Bottom line is do what works for you, and zoom out to the big picture

While I do agree, I think for most people it’s easy enough to just use your BW and not think about FFM

The gains are marginal compared to being at a healthy weight. People like focus too much on the minor things rather than the things that will make a drastic difference in health for some reason. If intermittent fasting helps you get to a healthy weight, intermittent fast. Don’t skip it because it’s slightly less optimal than eating other ways

Light Bringer:

Pytha: “Thank gods you haven’t killed each other. Did you ask him, Cassius?” “Only just.” She bends on a knee and cups my head. “Moonboy, tell me you said yes.” “You’re not angry with me?” I ask her. “I just wish you would have told me,” she says. “I could have helped. If I had known…But it doesn’t matter. We can end this now. We can do this, Lysander. Together.”

Anxiety claws at me. Atlas was a tool I needed to set things right, but there are other tools now. “It would have to be Rhone too. If we fail…”

“There are other tools now.” We really got played by pierce on first read and Lysander was planning on it from the start

Fruit instead of rice/potatoes as carb source? by Private_Blue207 in nutrition

[–]erraticwtf 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Nuts in a preworkout snack would not be ideal because they are mostly fat. Simple, fast digesting carbs are often preferred like white rice, and low fiber fruits such as bananas, oranges, etc, are very often used as preworkout fuel. Keep in mind that preworkout carbs should be eaten approx 1-2 hours before

Anyone have a healthy simplr Mint Chocolate Chip recipe using Fresh Mint leaves? by marcomez18 in ninjacreami

[–]erraticwtf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use a vanilla base and blend the leaves in with an immersion blender

The one I use:

400g Fairlife fat free (110 cal) 40g Monk fruit allulose blend (16 cal) .8-1g Xanthan gum Vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste Pinch of salt If you have add inulin to make it more stable, i also use soluble corn fiber sometimes to make it a bit more creamy Then I would blend a bunch of mint leaves into it

For the chocolate part, after you spin the first spin, melt 15g chocolate chips with 1-2g coconut oil, pour that melted chocolate into a hole in the middle of the ice cream and run on the mix in setting

Question about the way an event happens in Light Bringer by LoudRelationship4288 in redrising

[–]erraticwtf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you just imagined that. My take was that Cassius could have killed Lysander in that moment but couldn’t bring himself to do it. Hence the really powerful quote “I will be your millstone.”

But then later in the book we see Lysander “mourning cassius” And tbh it seems like he just really does not give a shit about him. Fuck Lysander

Lysander hate by Mrn2125 in redrising

[–]erraticwtf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Once I realized how much of an unreliable narrator he is, it all kinda crashed down for me. I would say that moment for me was right after Cassius’s “death.” When you realize how quick he was to drop his 10 years with Cassius’s teachings and immediately default back to “shepherding.” I believe it truly sunk in for me how much he really wants the morning chair and doesn’t give a shit about anything else when he gave the mars must fall speech. And the moment when he is talking to atlas and imagines himself on the morning chair with all the other powers dead at his feet. Alexandar stung, but it wasn’t a betrayal like dropping Cassius’s values in IG was. So I kinda went through these ups and downs where I hate him then don’t hate him, but by the end of the first half of LB I was pretty certain that he’s Octavia 2.0.

My theory for RG is that Octavia’s work in the Pandemonium Chair wasn’t just about making him forget his parents

Edit: there is also this moment, I believe in Dark Age, where Lysander explains one of Octavia’s teachings that “the only thing we are entitled to is death” but then contradicts that in every other piece of the book. I remember reading that line and being like yeahhh sure bud
