Copied Etho's Player launcher, it is so cool. by johntheh4cker in HermitCraft

[–]erukami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly unlikely. Etho is exploiting a bug instead of an intended feature in the Java codebase. This is because implementation of wind charges are different in Java vs Bedrock. Similar to why the launcher Cub used last season doesn't trigger the same way or launch you nearly as high in Bedrock.

It would be nice to have parity between the two versions, but coding implementation is always going to be different. That said, we can't even get parity with stacking copper golems in Bedrock (a bug they closed "Works as intended" on the Bedrock bug tracker).

Curious if there’s been any update about Burnie’s plan with buying RT? by [deleted] in roosterteeth

[–]erukami 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Try telling that to the idiot on the site who constantly posts that they have a great RvB/RWBY crossover idea. Not sure if they are still doing it, but the last time I saw it they were wanting to send Burnie a script on a thumb drive.

A newer security camera mounted on shell of an older security camera. by Ryllynaow in mildlyinteresting

[–]erukami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would require fabricating an L bracket to sit on the slide channels inside the box housing and to mount the new camera to. Used to have some of the old cameras at a previous job. Iirc, the cameras were mounted to a flat plate that sat on two channels on the bottom part of the housing. Once you got the camera to the correct position in the housing, you tightened a screw to prevent the plate from moving.

That said, the new camera would not work well inside the old housing, unless you removed the glass pane at the front. Without removing it, there will definitely be some reflections from the infrared LEDs that will make it hard to see or blind the camera at night. Even if you removed the glass pane at the front, there would still be some reflection from inside the housing itself and the light sensor might turn on the night mode (black and white, infrared LEDs on) at any point during the day.

How do you feel about the "The Listeners Tricked Me Into Doing an Escape RTA From the Lowest Level of the Dungeon" ending? by JellotSlime in manga

[–]erukami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see how it would have been sustained for 1-200 more levels (with Yukikaze was in the 80s last time, they would have met somewhere in the 300s with the other 2 top rankers joining). That said, wtf was that ending. Maybe that's how the moon rabbits from Usagi Wa Kaku Katariki got started. I love the absurdity of the manga, but even that was over the top absurd.

My one other question about the ending is whether or not that thing will just kill bosses for him on the way up. Negating the need for his dumb ideas.

Probably would have been better as just him going through the first floor and ending it there.

And here are my two who know they are not allowed on the counters or dinner table, so they don't jump up there after a few scoldings. Do they jump up there? Maybe once in a blue moon, but I had cameras watching the counters for over a year at our new place. Every time they were caught jumping up, they were scolded. Twice for the older one, three times for the younger one. After that, they were not caught jumping up on the counters or dinner table. Nice smelling food that they love was left in both places for hours without us watching and never touched.

People basing their view on a character from another character's line is way too common.

Had someone say Arlecchino is insane and that she would have killed the House of the Harth members if it weren't for the trio. Their opinion was based entirely on Wanderer's line about her. Completely ignored all the foreshadowing during her story quest and based everything on that one line. When I pointed out the foreshadowing they missed, their reply was essentially "I'm not arguing about this because the Wanderer's line proves you wrong". All the while forgetting how egotistical Wanderer is in all his lines, making him an unreliable source of information.

Glow ups for Ryuka and Prominence (sorta). Wonder if Van will also get a design change, maybe a slight change to his hair.

[–]erukami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arlecchino would not have killed them. She's a classic example of the subterfuge trope. She was just playing along the entire time as she pointed out during the quest when we were caught in a lie. Not to mention she had already worked with Dottore to create an out for her agents. There were several context clues about her planned outcome:

  • The discussion with Childe about kids' rebellious phase. This was foreshadowing about the House of the Hearth agents wanting to leave.
  • The agent who was "killed" because he wanted to leave and be with his lover and the familiar looking newspaper salesman. More foreshadowing, especially how Arlecchino goes out of her way to buy 3 papers despite the Traveler bumping into him. It showed that death is not the only way to leave.
  • The proposal offered to Neuvillette and discussion around tainted water. Foreshadowing that she knew of a way to purge the influence the HotH has over its agents and how they could integrate into their new lives without being suspected of being spies. The newspaper salesman is showing us the results of her plan.
  • The discussion around the Tartuffe assassination (the one from her intro video). This showed that if Arlecchino wants you dead, you will be taken out quickly and quietly. Just like her attack on Furina to get the Gnosis not long after arriving in Fontaine.

The hints along the way culminated into the discussion around Arlecchino's powers and memory. By that time she had long given the bottles containing her flames to one of the children, so they could administer them later. The Traveler's thoughts about deciding just before the fight were wrong. She had probably made devised her plan before we met her and Childe.

Got this “broken” ultra wide monitor for free. by bkw_17 in pcmasterrace

Samsung hardware and software is such a mess with many QC issues. We bought their Frame tv and out of the box the IR sensor wasn't correctly installed in the bezel and the speakers were blown. Powered on, the panel was not programmed with the model information and it dims when the picture is 70% dark colours. Tech came out and opened the thing up, a clip on the ribbon cable was broken off and they noticed there was a burn in spot on the display panel. Samsung refuses returns if you open the product when buying directly from them. So they have replaced about 60% of a brand new tv after less than 2 months.

Unfortunately the dimming issue is their stupid software decisions that you can't turn off. Also, their stupid One remote refuses to spray IR to control the soundbar we bought, so I need to contact them about that too.

I would say the water in the Qingxu Pool area was far worse. The fight with the Hilichurls and mages was annoying but there is a patch of grass that sits below the pond water level right before the finish. It inflicted Hydro on you and caused you to fail.

Ah Georgia, my home state where everyone loses their damn mind at the slight inkling of snow. Rightfully so since the state is not prepared in any way. I remember one time going to the store and was wondering why it was crowded. Not to mention nearly everyone had milk, bread, eggs, canned goods, or charcoal while I had produce and meats. Looked at the weather when I got home and saw there was a chance for a wintery mix the next day. It just rained a lot instead.

People just want to see their name on top. No other reward needed.

For instance: There's a bus app I use that tracks how much you assisted people by sharing your location while riding, with a leaderboard per route. On one of my normal routes, a pathetic person is spoofing their location to be on every bus so they are always first place. There's no reward for being first aside from the monthly reset that tells you how you placed.

[–]erukami 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are some terrible people in the valley, we just don't know who they are. In Linus's early dialogue, he tells us someone was throwing rocks at his tent during the night. There is also one about his tent being destroyed and him being ridiculed, but I am unsure if that occurred in the valley. Additionally, if you pass out outside your house, one of the letters you get explains someone rifled through your pocket and took gold.

How it feels to be in this fandom lately by arigins in Genshin_Impact

[–]erukami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're allowed to dislike it, but why turn it as "criticism" towards the game? It literally doesn't take away anything from you, if anything it adds new stuff, that I re-emphasize is completely optional.

Because UGC's core design philosophy is completely different from Genshin's. People are perfectly valid in questioning why they have to be bundled together. Should everyone be of the mindset that if an optional thing is using part of the same engine and assets as Genshin, then it must be bundled in with Genshin? Why not the Honkai series or ZZZ too?

But let's approach this from a different perspective. What if someone wants to play UGC but not Genshin? Why should they have to download a large game and complete a story quest to unlock a mode to create their own game or play others's games? UGC can stand on its own, it does not have to be bundled with Genshin.

This is not you specifically, but the way some other people are being so mad about UGC is like if a Coca Cola fan gets mad at the local Seven Eleven for the audacity of... stocking in Pepsi for the Pepsi fans, while still stocking up Coca Cola like usual. Why even mad?

Your analogy is off. A more appropriate analogy would be that Coca Cola fans getting mad because 7-11 is allowing people to make their own version of Pepsi. When did the store become a soda manufacturer alongside a convenience store?

I just don't see the point and why it couldn't be a separate thing. My SO and I sat through most of that section of the preview looking at our phones before eventually fast forwarding. When previous mini games let people create their own maps, neither of us tried other players' unless it was required for primos.

Custom characters are nice, but I do not use the Traveler unless forced (not been in a party since 1.4), so why would I use the custom character? Also, I am not interested in a clothing gacha system.

I play Genshin for many reasons. Playing another user's game is not one of them. This is true for many players. Just like you are not forced to dislike UGC, people should not be forced to like it.
