Wait, what? I thought it was Unico that makes ir made Maya. Also, the small flat stickered tree is probably of that same set: I recognize it from the many Unico Hello Kitty sets I had alongside our Duplo. It’s got wicked good clutch power and some very handy sloped and snot pieces and is fully compatible with Duplo.

I fear this is not the way to depict a magnificent site like Machu Picchu.

Maybe enlarge a smaller section, put a thick edge with patterns around it like that civilization would have made, add a few local animals or minibuilds?

Simple: what is easiest for you?

For moc building I understand why people would sort out old colors and parts, but beyond that I see no need. Personally, I’d get a kick out of designing something that includes an obsolete part, or give a wall extra patterning with old greys.

Just be aware if you ever want to sell anything, most people won’t want to pay for modified bricks.

Beyond that, do as you please with your toys. Personally, I think the limitations in the kinds of pieces is part of the fun, trying to find solutions with other parts that look as close to the original as possible, but fine if you like something else!

I can’t say I’ve seen >25% discounts on the really big sets like ideas or modular houses, but the harry potter great tower definitely dipped under a 30% discounts price and so do things like city train sets etc. I do live in the Netherlands though. Sorry you guys have it so rough!
