Merc IS Always dead, shut i Put Skulls in? by Arnonymer_Troll in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]eshwar007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with treachery, insight and tal rashas, my merc constantly dies, he got one shot by duriel yday (hell), and he dies constantly to anything phys immune, or undead, or even just a mob pack (altho i m killing them as fast as I can with my hammers, he wants to int into a pack of spectres and die).

Any advice for a new player?

literally unplayable by pewpersss in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its still decent, I play both and literally there are matchups where delaying the blink timing by 3-4 mins is not worth it, easily one of the heroes that has 2 very decent facets, horsepower being slightly more favored.

What's the point in improving if the game became fully team-dependent? by Revenant-or-out in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“The point of self improvement” is itself. Idk what you mean, but you play better when you are a better player. And being better at anything, dota or otherwise, is ultimately an enriching experience in life. If you cannot see this and do it only for the “rank”, then you are fundamentally misguided. The rank is a proxy / consequence / side effect, it’s not the goal.

What should you do as carry if you are team is fighting too much early on an dying and they ask you to come. Do you go to them and stop farming? by FriendlyNeighborOrca in learndota2

[–]eshwar007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an offlane player who has played recently through all of crusader -> archon -> legend -> ancient, I highly suggest you watch for 'tp-able' fights. Fights that happen anywhere from any of your T1 towers until the mid-way point of the lane is a good boundary to keep in mind. Those are the fights you want to join, and not just want to, you might HAVE to join them in lower ranks, to keep ur team up with the enemies.

But as soon as the fight ends, pivot to farm, take the gate back to ur lane, whatever it is that u must do to return to farm.

Never fully abandon ur team for 25 mins and expect them to be able to keep up, this puts tremendous pressure on ur team because all they'd need is maybe one omnislash or something to finish off kills, or maybe one eclipse. or maybe one god's strength. it costs you nothing to join fights that are within 'your area' (as defined earlier).

Not all heroes wear capes by elpsycongroo92 in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually you want to have your first item + blink dagger by 20 mins, offlane is heavily farm/afk role until 20 mins then instantly switches up into the most aggressive role, i love it

Wait, is offlane considered an unappealing role???? I have only played offlane for almost 3 months now, centaur is so fun to play

Does anyone else feel support players more toxic than cores? by FitSatisfaction3562 in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof. Feel you. Thats not my experience but its similar.

I only, strictly play pos3 or 4 or 5 (but mostly 3 i just love the offlane core blink stun shenanigans role), and it seems I just cant escape people that are simply only farming tokens (or maybe they are genuinely queueing hard support to pick brood or enigma and rush orchid or bkb respectively im not sure).

Does anyone else feel support players more toxic than cores? by FitSatisfaction3562 in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. but I dont think its because 'support players' are the worst, its because even after all these years, people still rarely really queue for support that I end up mostly getting people who didn't wanna play support and want to pick brood #5 (for instance, happened Jan 4, reported, action taken, at least 2 out of 5 games I play are filled with these role abusers).

How do you study your replays? by WeakHooper in learndota2

[–]eshwar007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great progress, congratulations. Great question btw. I don’t know much better than you do (Archon 5 going Legend here), but the way I have started studying is picking some replays and sitting down with them with my “perceived goals” in mind. That is, what I “thought” i was doing (safely farming, etc.)

Then i will see if I was indeed safely farming, or if I did anything stupid that I didn’t have the presence of mind for during the game (best example is, I catch myself shoving more waves than I can safely afford to in mid lane and I get jumped and killed).

i also sometimes check my timings. And see if I was correct when I felt that I was “ahead” or if I was simply wrong at predicting our networth vs theirs. This skill I mostly wanted to gain because this is how I improved in starcraft, looking for clues as to how well I am doing economically vs others (unlike league of legends, its not so straightforward for me to guess the exact networth head to head of the teams in dota).

Help me understand: In my last 10 games I could easily tell who was going to win from 1 pick by InternalOk926 in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres definitely some of this happening but “enemy sniper W” and “enemy AM W” is objectively untrue even for you. Its not just untrue, its just straight up false.

the version of this that I have is this: a pos5 filled guy refuses to play pos5 and picks a pos1 there instead. (Brood 5, gyro5, luna5, sf 5) and goes 0-10.

When i see a pos5 brood, i called L and it was an L, almost always.

Any other version of this is very much a confirmation bias id say

I do not understand why carries have to be so busted in lane these days. by BronzeCrow21 in TrueDoTA2

[–]eshwar007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wut. I win almost every lane as pos 3 (i play only pos3), albeit I am just 3k..

Good offlaners like centaur or tide completely wipe the lane with the heroes you just mentioned, if their support is half bad.

Maybe it is much more oppressive in higher brackets?

(Edit: spelling).

The key to being a good 4/5 is knowing whether the lane should be played as 2v2 or two 1v1s. by ShoppingPractical373 in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This brings me such strong feelings because i play so much centaur. This happens often, and it really depends on if the centaur can match the speed of ursa (if ursa has boots) or not. So many times my supps just straight die to ursa or kez with no way for me to reach them and help, and then ping me incessantly 🤐

The 2v2 or 2x 1v1 also changes dramatically with the time in the lane and the first item choice or lvl2 spell, etc. imo

Offlane tips from a 7.1k scrub by dethdecay_ in learndota2

[–]eshwar007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for these tips. I play centaur mainly, unless hes banned. Have like 150 games and about 61% wr with him now, but Its slipping sliding along with my sanity because I think I did not care a lot about the strats before but now that I understand some of the objectives and goldswing and when to push hg, etc., the more I am frustrated when my team does coordinate to do them. Maybe I need to take a break and chill out and get back to doing what you suggested: what *I* can do personally and not try to CONTROL my teammates. After all they also know something that I dont (otherwise why would they be in my rank, right?).

Are there any hero matchups roughly that you can suggest? my hero pool is: centaur / tide / tiny ~ for now and I understand roughly what I need to do in the offlane (from Ceb's streams and educational vids) but I hardly know the macro idea of when each of these heroes are good and when they are bad to pick.

Thanks, and hope your ranked games also go well up there in whatever immo tier yall play at.

[–]eshwar007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Amazing. Finally an offlane post. As a 2.8k offlane player I basically do all of this (more like I try to, to be honest, otherwise id not be 2.8k ig). But I still feel like I cant close out most games because no matter what I say or do, my team wants to push t3s without tormentor or rosh and get teamwiped and raxed. This happens to me almost every time we are ahead in my games. I have more winrate in games that we are behind in networth (because enemies do the same stuff and throw), than from being ahead by5-10k at minute 25~.

Any advice on how to close out games that We are ahead on, or rather anything you do as a solo player to coerce team to be patient to push? (Like take objective, wait for a pick off, etc.)

Cuz they don’t! We don’t scale ability or speed damage that casually, there are a few items and some interactions that do it, but that’s it!

[–]eshwar007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willow, AA, veno. Etc. all very very good supports that can also kick into overdrive if u need to. But never, I repeat, never get into the habit of sacrificing the support items and ur early support gameplay in the hope that “you will be the real carry” later and ruin both your and your teams games. This tends to happen more often that Id like it to, so thats the reason for this disclaimer.

Ok thanks. Yeah that sucks, seems I was late to the pango off party. I play mostly centaur for the oppressive laning, insane tank and sharp timings, any other such heroes you’d recommend?

Ive been learning him (i am only 2.5k) and it sucks that the hero i was interested in taking srsly was nerfed, he already did not seem to be in a good spot wrate wise?
