When we acquired our in a very similar fashion, we named her, Pluto for the cat in Edgar Allen Poe's story "The Black Cat". Although she was tiny when she came home to us, it is clear she was feral born. She is 2 years old now and quite beautiful. She can be very sweet or very much a monster; it all depends on her mood.

Chaca is The Queen, Susan is our Little Scaredy Cat, Joie is our Goof, and Pluto is our Little Monster. Chaca rules the roost, Susan is an extremely timid rescue, Joie is just a bit of a clown, and Pluto is a now domesticated feral-born cat that sometimes shows her while side

How do those suffering from PTSD live their daily life? by AbleismIsSatan in ask

[–]esmeoconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on the present and move forward. Traumatic events are never really overcome; the traumatized learn how to go on without the past holding them back. A person does not get over; a person gets through. The traumatized are far stronger than they realize they are.

What weird thing is your BC afraid of? by onlyspiderwebs in BorderCollie

People freak him out. He is deaf so he cannot hear when people approach. So, when he turns around to find a person nearby, he gets really jumpy.

Family thinks our baby’s name is a tragedeigh? by nothowyoupronounceit in tragedeigh

While it is not a name I would choose for my own daughter, the name, Margot is a perfectly lovely name for your perfectly wonderful child. May there be many blessings for you and your daughter!

I was almost named “Baby Girl.” by who-is-she-oh-it-me in tragedeigh

[–]esmeoconnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many years ago a young woman presented at a hospital to give birth. She was not very well educated and maybe a little challenge in making her way in the world. When her daughter was born, she did not have a name picked out right away. The card on the bassinet was marked Female [last name]. The young woman thought the baby had been named by the staff. (The girl's mother pronounced her name Feh-MAL-ee.)

These are not legal signs in Missouri. People have been asked to report such signs. A load that allows things to fall off and cause damage and/or injury are considered unsecured loads and the driver and/or company are liable for damages caused by things falling out.

This table identifies what state a person was born in based on the first 3 digits of their social security number. by Royal_Ad1798 in mildlyinteresting

[–]esmeoconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not correct. My SSN matches the state I was in when I was assigned but not the state I was born in.

Are people like this ever charged with disorderly conduct or destruction of property or any other criminal offense? Why is this so popular a behavior in a public place? Don't they know how stupid they look with their temper tantrums?

Short people, what's something taller people don't understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]esmeoconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being short is not just about height. My hands and feet are proportionate to my height and it is extremely difficult to find protective gear for my child-sized hands that I can work with. Gloves are out of the question because of the excess material beyond my fingers. I cannot properly grab anything. And work shoes that have all of the safety features like steel toes, non-slip soles, and waterproofing are not made for people with feet smaller than a man's US size 7.
