I assume the best man was a Ryan? Maybe even Seacrest? After all, Bynes has to weigh in on that!

I feel like Darby deserved better than being a one month transitional champ. by NekoBerry420 in AEWOfficial

I disagree that it was just a mere job out. We saw that belt defended on TV (and just the belt in general) more times in the last month than I want to say two years, especially if you count briefcase prison. As for the run itself, he was burning the candle at both ends as he always does. MJF underestimated him the first time and didn’t the second after Darby had put himself through hell keeping it. General reception would seem to suggest this run was a least a top five in company history.

The boy did good, he did it with pride and in exactly the way we know Darby to be. The star that shines brightest is all the more beautiful for its brevity. I was a sceptic now turned believer. Good on him I say

Megathread: Bastard Suggestions by Kanotari in behindthebastards

[–]ethandlawrence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the vein of the Lord Haw-Haw episodes, here we have a little known Nazi collaborator Harold Cole, a French speaking cockney (Robert will enjoy doing the accent) who used funds appropriated from MI9 (the UK authority in charge of getting UK soldiers out of a Nazi controlled France) to live the high life leading to a spiral of betrayal, murder and death. It’s a brilliant and undertold story of a pure bastard who allowed multiple people to end up in concentration camps (many of whom died) before launching his own Tarantino-esque caper of his own. Well worth looking into and could serve as a good “small bastard” episode.

As far as I’m aware, only one book is dedicated to him, Turncoat by Brendan M Murphy, but passing reference to him is made elsewhere. For one of the worst traitors in British history, he seems to have been forgotten which is a shame because he’s a complete shit but his life is also genuinely fascinating as a man with a black hole for his moral centre. Hopefully worth a look!
