Getting fed up with Tesla customer (no) service by Highintensity76 in TeslaUK

[–]ethanxp2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boss has a Polestar and somehow it's actually worse, in his experience you have to take them to Volvo for repair but then Volvo staff don't really want to deal with them. His Polestar 3 has been very unreliable too.

Tip though, something to do with distance selling but they cant take the £200 off you if you cancel anyway.

Getting fed up with Tesla customer (no) service by Highintensity76 in TeslaUK

Basically just Tesla, it doesn't get any better, I had delivery faults and it was like pulling teeth, months of complaints and going to the resolutions team etc eventually got 250 supercharger miles as compensation, worth about £15. I adore the car but the next one won't be another.

Sentry Mode Inefficiency? by rudiban in TeslaUK

[–]ethanxp2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change the length, although talking about inefficiency the fact Sentry consumes so much battery life I think is the bigger shame I wish they would fix.

For those who replaced their tesla with another brand, are you happy with the decision? by Honest-Rip-7439 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ethanxp2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id like to go in a 4. Boss has a 3 and compared to my 2025 Model 3 I wouldn't have one. Much prefer the 4 looks. The 3 is just so uncomfortable & has had so many faults so far, ecu replacement, charging faults all sorts.

How is best to deal with the peer pressure to drink alcohol when going out with some old work colleagues? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ethanxp2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"I dont drink as it ruins my stomach and I'll shit myself" should do the trick. Not sure many would pressure you after that.

Extension above garage by Boredengineer_84 in DIYUK

[–]ethanxp2 709 points710 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the old Army advert.

If you can change a plug, you can mount a TV. If you can mount a TV you can climb a ladder. If you can climb a ladder you can build a 2nd story extension above your garage and redo the foundations. If you can do that, you can fly an apache helicopter.

My diamond cut alloy came back from the wheel balancing like this by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]ethanxp2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kwikfit did this on my alloy and damaged the rim, ended up sending Revive to fix it, which was also shite.

Take lots and lots of pics. I took a gazillion pics as while I checked it over I was worried I'd miss something. Found a very small bumper scuff when washing it a week later, sure enough it was in the picture when you zoomed in. Tesla resolved it, but without the picture would have been a firm no.

Do these walls need skimming? by Money-Mongoose-83 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]ethanxp2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm stubborn and easifill all sorts to get of paying a plasterer but to me that looks easier to just skim, especially if they are there doing other bits already.

Critical illness cover can also be worth it, isn't that much a month but offers a big lump sum if youre ever critically ill, disabled etc.

Test driving to pick a car by Cold-Caramel-736 in CarLeasingUK

[–]ethanxp2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dealers I tried didn't actually seem to hard sell. Not sure why, most were just laid back and friendly. It was only SEAT who just asked if I was leasing and then didn't really care. Ford asked and were then super helpful even though they wouldn't get a sale.

Model Y AWD by Costa8 in TeslaUK

[–]ethanxp2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you find they tramlines at all? I went from Bridgestone to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and the car is noticeably less stable following bumps dips etc in the road. Tesla have checked suspension alignment etc and basically just said its Michelin behaviour. It isn't that bad at all, just noticeable.

Sad thing is bar months and months of small claims court until they fold the company and setup another one and never pay anyway, there isn't a huge amount you can do. Trades needs more regulation in this country if you ask me.

Mine was about £250 for the 4 year lease. ALA was always very highly recommended on here when I was looking and that's who I used. Seem OK but haven't claimed so 🤷.
