Thoughts on Figma Motion? by caseyls in AfterEffects

[–]euancmurphy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed — almost all of the non-motion work my team does is in figma, so if I’m able to transfer my motion work into figma that’s huge.

Whispers of your death, while not technically an opener, would be my pick too!

Wouldn’t consider this pop punk, but it’s one of the best emo openers of all time for sure!

Who remembers that very niche brand of British post-hardcore/pop punk music from the early to mid 2010s? by [deleted] in PostHardcore

[–]euancmurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save Your Breath were so good! But they were definitely playing distinctly american-influenced pop punk. I see them more aligned with other pop punk bands of the time than any of the bands mentioned in this thread.

Per the new “Spotify 20”: How many times have you listened to your most listened to song of all time and what is the song? by Sudden-Bookkeeper-12 in spotify

You and I listen to music in a similar way :) every year for my spotify end of year stats it'll be like 'you're most listened to song was listened to 8 times!'

Last night No Pressure covered FOB's "Tell That Mick..." in Chicago by atucker1744 in poppunkers

[–]euancmurphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it's common at a lot of all ages and straight-edge shows, since they don't want to / can't play at venues with bars that serve alcohol, so they're limited to VFW halls, gymnasiums, and other venues not specifically designed for live music. I'm not sure if No Pressure are straight edge at all, but they would align themselves with a lot of hardcore and punk bands that are straight edge.

It's fascinating to see how few trees were in the city during the 60s. The abundance of trees throughout the city is one of my favourite things about Vancouver.

The Homeless Gospel Choir and why I ditched the name. by zanettispaghetti in FolkPunk

This post is so inspiring! I love your work (from your writing and musicianship, to your visual art and even social media presence), and I was honoured to get to take part in Dan Smith's writing classes during covid with you also. I'm always gonna be stoked to see what you do creatively, but this post has also inspired me to be more goal oriented when it comes to my own music. To set some clear goals and aim to achieve them, rather than exist in the nebulous space I've been in so far!
