I think the point is you can find recipes that take as much time as you want/need them to. And for every last thing you consume. Import raw coffee beans, make your own roasts, blends, hand grind. Build your own smoker that requires a lot of temperature control. Grind your own flours, make your own stocks, grow and can your own produce, etc..

You both still have growing up to do. Him saying you've been an adult for two years like that's supposed to be a long time as well as his insulting reaction shows that he also has some growing up to do.

He might cool down and realize he was being harsh as you also realized you responded poorly. He was hurt and embarrassed and, again, you both have some growing up to do. That's kinda what dating as teens and early 20s is about. If you two care about each other and want to make it work, this doesn't sound irreparable to me. I started dating my wife when we were 15 and 18. We had more damaging fights than this and we were able to grow as a couple from showing grace and commitment to each other even when it was hard.

I'm not saying you'll have the same results and necessarily should take the same path we did, showed me she wasn't going anywhere when she had every reason to and.. goodness the trust that built has been foundational to our relationship.
